Holiday Series: The Summer Holiday Lookbook

Hello m'fellow Trustinvoguers and newbies! As promised from my previous holiday related posts, I shall be doing a 'look-book' of all the outfits that I wore on holiday. Expect everything from flip flops to maxi's! In my opinion, it can always be rather difficult choosing your holiday wear. Of course, you want to have something that's on trend at the moment, like a floral play-suit or glamorous maxi. But the truth of the matter is, that sometimes, even those summer type of clothing can be too hot.

Yes, I know what you're thinking,  how can summer clothing, be too hot, when it's designed for.. well, hot weather?! Well let me tell you this. I made the mistake of buying and wearing the 'on trend' items of clothing without a second thought. The result? Uncomfortable sticky hotness in humid, muggy conditions. Not a fabulous look, I can tell you that. The reason being? The actual fabric can be too heavy, for example; the simple maxi dress. They're usually made out of a jersey material, which can be heavy and yes, that means you will be, to phrase 'a sweaty betty'. Yum. So yeah, bare that warning in mind girlies! Oh, and as always, if you can, try not to wear black!

I love these two outfits, and they were both bought quite recently. The first (AX Paris one) was actually bought from Republic in Leeds, which was closing down. I got it for a fab price of £12, reduced from £22 which is a complete bargain if you ask me. Not only that, retailer New Look are still selling the exact same play suit from AX Paris, for the original price tag. Crazy! As for the other dress, I actually LOVE it. Surprisingly enough, it's from Primark. I also have one similar in coral, with the crotchet detailing on the waistline. They're super thin, and easy to slip on to wear for any occasion. For just £10, you can't go wrong.

As I mentioned earlier about the mistake of wearing Maxi dresses in hot countries, this is a prime example. Even though I wore this pretty black number on a night, it was still about 27'C outside - so not a great idea. But I would definitely recommend black maxi's for curvier women, I've recently put on weight and I find that it fluctuates my curves perfectly without looking too 'frumpy'. I bought this maxi dress 2 years ago from New Look, so I'm not sure about the price, sorry!

Here is a picture of my friend sporting my daisy dress from Ark Clothing, I also bought this a couple of years ago, so I'm not exactly certain on the price, but I'm sure it was about £25+. Or somewhere about that mark. I love the open back tie detailing and the cute daisy pattern. However, my only issue is that Ark dresses are far too short, already this dress is unfortunately too short on me and I've only had it a few years. Sort it out Ark

What do you think to my holiday lookbook?
As always, let me know!
Lots of love, Hannah xoxo
