EXCLUSIVE: Victoria's Secret Preview Event Leeds

Hello m'fellow Trustinvoguers and newbies! I've got a special post for you all today. As I work at River Island, there was a bunch of Victoria's Secret invitations on the staff room table, available for anyone to take. So of course, I had to take two! The invitation allowed you entry into the private sneak preview event tonight, as well as a FREE tote bag with ANY purchase! How amazing is that?!
It was so exhilarating and exciting waiting in the queue, especially seeing as me and my sister (and my little nephew in his pram too!) were at the very front, so we were the first ones into the store. What came with that, was plenty of pictures taken of us haha!  Unfortunately, I wasn't 'allowed' to take really good photos (i.e. flash), however I did sneak a few for you all!

Street Style in Leeds | OOTD!

Hello m'fellow Trustinvoguers and newbies! I went shopping today (as you can probably guess from the title of this blog post!) and I just thought i'd share with you what I wore. It was quite a warm day today in my home city of Leeds, but It was forecasted to drizzle a tiny bit with the odd wind. Therefore, I opted for this simple, monochrome, black and white striped shift dress. This is a bit of an exclusive for you, as it's part of an HUGE August haul coming up! So yeah, I recently bought this shift dress just last week from my all-time favvy shop, River Island. This dress costs £22, however with my lovely jubbly staff discount, I got this for just a measly £15 something!! Amazing.

 DRESS: River Island - £22
BAG: Internacionale - £20
SUNGLASSES: Rayban ?
CHELSEA BOOTS: Missguided.co.uk £35.99

If a certain item isn't linked up, it's because I bought it AGES ago haha! Just to let y'all know!
I absolutely love this dress, it's perfect for dressing up or down - if you're going for a casual look with a chunky gold necklace as I did today, or if you want to wear it with ya bare legs around the town! I really like the mono striped look on this dress, I actually feel skinnier in this for some reason! D'you know when something just catches your eye in a shop - and you just HAVE to have it?! Yeah, that feeling came over me, and yes, I do get emotionally attached to clothes! haha! But who wouldn't with a dress this gorgeous?! It's actually a new arrival at River Island, so it will most likely be readily available at your own local River Island store.

If you haven't been to Leeds Trinity shopping centre yet, I'd totally reccommend it! It has everything from Hollister, to Victoria's Secret. Perfect for style, not so perfect on your bank account! But oh well, we all need a bit of fashion and luxury in our lives every now and then!

What do you think to my 'outfit of the day'?
Have you ever been to Leeds before, or the Leeds Trinity centre?
As always, let me know!
Lot's of love, Hannah xoxo

August Wishlist | RIVER ISLAND

Hello m'fellow Trustinvoguers and newbies!! I'm back yet again! As you all may already know from my previous blog post, I got into University! This past week has been pretty hectic, organizing stuff to get for uni - everything from a love heart-shaped bath mat, to...socks. Yeah, you start to think of random things that you may need! Or, in terms of the love heart-shaped bath mat, that you may want! Anyway, I wanted to divert my mind away a bit from all things homeware related, and jump back to lusting after beautiful clothes. Today, I've got a River Island wishlist for you. Yes, I do work there - So it's an advantage and a disadvantage at the same time really, lookin' fab but with damaging your bank account at the same time! Especially seeing as now that I'm a student, I can at least dream after some of these items!

river island wishlist

river island wishlist by hannahbriggs-1 featuring a chain statement necklace

Blue Colour Block Top - £12
Grey Tweed Panel T-shirt Dress - £35
Red Tapered Smart Trousers - £30
Brown Faux Fur Shoes - £35
Chunky Gold Tone Statement Necklace - £12
Cream Quilted Bag - £45

I personally adore all of these items, as you can dress all of them up or down for any occasion. For example, the grey tweed panel dress can be passed off at something for work, however, if you added a chunky statement necklace and some killer heels, there's your night-out outfit sorted! Each item is unique and can be used with different kinds of clothing time and time again, which I really like as it's always useful to mix and match things in your wardrobe!

What do you think to my River Island wishlist?
Anything you fancy?
As always, let me know!
Lots of love, Hannah xoxo

I'M GOING TO UNIVERSITY!!

Hello m'fellow Trustinvoguers and newbies! I was actually planning on keeping up posting everyday, but these past few have been a complete whirlwind. This is just going to be a very quick post to explain why that is. Last night, thousands of A level students were sweating it out, unable to sleep and like myself, having nightmares at 2am about results! UCAS Track (the website that you look on to see if you have got offers, etc) was actually hacked last night too, so it's safe to say I was definitely on edge for the past 24 hours. Heck, the past 2 years! A levels are very stressful, there's no denying it. ANYWAY, Track actually opened half an hour earlier than expected, so bright and early at 7:20am, I hurridley typed in my user details before the shock happened.

"Congratulations, your place at Northumbria University for Fashion Communication has been confirmed." AHHHHH!! I literally screamed with delight and cried at the same time.. if that's even possible?! My dad must of thought I was being murdered or something, because he came running in my bedroom like a lightening bolt! hahaha! So yes, I just wanted to share my fantastic news with you all,- I got BBC! - and the fact that in 3ish weeks, i'll be moving up to Newcastle from my home just outside Leeds! (Don't worry, nothing will change here on TrustinVogue.com!)

That's all!
I shall be posting again as soon as possible, please bare with me as I sort out all things uni-related!
Have you been accepted into University?
How did your results go?
As always, let me know!
Lots of love, Hannah xoxo

How To: Festival Summer Hair in 5 Steps!

Hello m'fellow Trustinvoguers and newbies! I've been frequently requested an 'how-to' hair style tutorial, due to the photos i've been posting over my past few blog entries. I'm absolutely LOVING this style, it's subtle yet fresh, elegant yet casual. Perfect blend of both worlds!.. *Que Hannah Montana song* "You get the beeeeest of both worlds!!" ....Ok, enough of that. Anyway, as requested I shall share with you on how to achieve this hair look, in 5 easy steps. Not only have I included it on my blog, it's also featured on my Youtube - TRUST IN VOGUE - channel (which you can see here) - just to make things that little bit easier!

However, of course I've done a thorough image-based post just so you can see for yourself on how to get the look by each snippet. I've been wearing my hair like this for literally most of the Summer, so I hope you enjoy this look. It's the perfect style to wear on a night out, or sprawled across some beach on distant soil, catching a tan. The possibilities, are seemingly endless!

Step number one. Apply heat rollers! You can use your straighteners to curl hair (or if you're american, flat iron) or any other curlers for that matter! I just prefer to use Heat rollers as they're quick, easy to use - and, well - just plain simple! I know my hair is done rather messily in the picture, but I actually did that on purpose as I didn't want 'too structured' hair if that makes sense? I also used an assortment of larger heat rollers and smaller ones to create that messed up beach waves look. If you would like to see how I apply heat rollers, please feel free to check out the video above! I use the Enrapture ones which are A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. Although they're quite pricey at £75, they're totally worth every penny. They've been used by the likes of famous bloggers and you-tubers such as FleurdeForce and Foxylocks just to name a few. So, if it's good enough for their thumbs up, then it's good enough for me!

Next step, take your fringe (or in my case, massively overgrown piece of hair) and seperate three stands of hair from each other. This is because we're going to use these strands to do a classic, and simple plait.

Now, all you do is take those three strands, and plait/braid down vertically. If you don't know how to plait already, it's really really easy. You take one strand of hair, place it on top of the other. I'm not explaining this very well am I? Let me start over. First split you hair into three pieces.. then take an outer piece and wrap it over the middle piece. After that, take the other outer piece (on the other side) and wrap that over the middle piece.. but making sure it is in between the middle bit and the bit you just did (the first piece) then continue this all the way down. If you need further assistance on how to do this then Google and Youtube has fantastic advice!

The easy bit! Simply take your plait/braid, and wrap it around the side of your head before tightly securing it with a bobbypin or two. I tend to use blonde-coloured bobbypins as the look much more discreet within my hair, but that's just personal choice you can use whatever takes your fancy!

The last step. Simply take out the heat rollers, using a vertical motion. Some people just whack them out, however, I find that if you remove the clip that holds the roller, then take the bottom of the roller and pull it downwards, the curl will come out much more spirally and, well, "proper good'". Excuse my Yorkshire dialect loves! Anyway, the image above is pretty much the final result. I hope this quick and easy 5 step hair tutorial has helped in anyway!

Please feel free to comment below if this has helped you out, or given you some inspriation!
As always, let me know!
Lots of love, Hannah xoxo

My Favourite Summer Hair Products

Hello m'fellow Trustinvoguers and newbies! Hope you're all doing well today. I thought I'd do a second post in a row, just to catch up a little bit on the past few days that I've had off from blogging. I'll be talking about my ultimate favourite go-to Summer hair products. Each one are selected around heat defense, frizz-ease, and to reduce dryness. Not only that, I picked products that are centered around styling hair, as well as just ready-to-go hair.

This has been by far one of my favourite heat-protect products that I've ever used, perfect for quickly spritsing on your locks before applying heat such as your straightners or heat rollers. It is the 'VO5 Heat Protect Styling Spray'. What I like, is that doesn't smell chemically or anything like that, which is always nice.  This is also the new design packaging, as it used to be just plain red, but i think it looks a lot more desirable in pink. I purchased the 200ml bottle from Superdrug, for just £3.69.

Firstly, apologies for the slightly blurry picture. Anyway, I've featured this product in previous monthly favourites and Summer essentials. That is, the Argan Oil hair treatment. It's enriched with vitamins and natural antioxidants. Also, it doesn't make the hair look too greasy alike to other oil-based products. It's perfect for dry or damaged hair like mine, as I frequently bleach my hair to get rid of my roots, due to having blonde hair. What I also like, is that this product instantly eases out frizz and leaves my hair feeling smooth, shiny and protected. I bought this a few years ago when there was no buzz around Argan Oil, for around £10 from Superdrug

Next up, is the 'Aussie Miracle Hair Insurance Leave-In Conditioner' - few, bit of a mouthful! I've raved and raved about this product before, of course, it's Aussie! Don't get me wrong, I like the shampoo and conditioner, but for me? The leave-in conditioner comes out on top every time. As it states "Saviour for weak, distressed hair" which is an absolute plus for me, because my hair has been breaking off a lot lately.  It obtains 'Australian Jojoba Oil' and other unique formula. Let me get this straight, it smells absolutely gorgeous, like, heavenly! Will definitely be re-purchasing. I just spray it on my damp hair after getting in the shower, and it instantly de-tangles my hair. I bought the 250ml bottle from Superdrug for around £4.49.

Last but not least, is the L'oreal Paris Elnett Satin Hairspray. Why do products have such long names nowadays?! It lasts pratically all day long when I use it in the morning. I got this on offer from Wilkinsons £3.00. I thought I'd just get the 'normal strength' hold, as i didn't want to get a stronger one with it looking too hard and crispy if y'know what I mean? The likes of Cheryl Cole and the Kardashians have been known to use this, so if it's good for them then it's great for me!

What do you think to my favourite summer hair products?
As always, let me know!
Lots of love, Hannah xoxo

My Kimono Obsession..

Hello m'fellow Trustinvoguers and newbies! I hope you're all doing well. I know I am, it's finaaaally Sunday! Yay! I work all weekend, so it technically a Sunday feels like a Friday to me. I know, kinda weird. But yeah! Today's post is going to be on my latest fashion obsession/craze which is the Kimono. From Topshop to River Island they're present pretty much EVERYWHERE at the minute, and I expect them to be quite popular still come September time.  I'ts seen as an 'East meets West' fusion. I bought my first ever Kimono from River Island (where I work) and did an OOTD last month, which you can see by clicking here.

I must say, although it is brilliant working for a fashionable store like River Island, it can be pretty daunting on your bank account come pay day! Being surrounded by so many pretty clothes, shoes, handbags and jewellery can drive you to spend unbelievable amounts of money. Lucky for discount! But still, it all adds up. Anyway, without jibbing' on too much, this will be a sort of 'Kimono Wishlist' that I want to add to my wardrobe before the Summer is up! Hopefully some anyway! Enjoy..

Lace Fringe Kimono in Cream - Topshop // £38
Black Leopard Print Devore Kimono - River Island // £50

As you can clearly see, Kimono's are rather expensive but so so beautiful and wearable! In my opinion? If it's totally worth it (which it is) then time to splash the cash! I love these three from Topshop and River Island in particular, because they're so different. The pretty lace, the statement floral print and sultry leopard print is a fantastic mix! Not only that, they're adaptable. You can literally go from wearing it with jeans and a top throughout the day, to putting it with a dress during the night. That's, in my opinion, is what's so great about them.

What do you think to these Kimonos & the Kimono trend in general?
As always, let me know!
Lots of love, Hannah xoxo

Easy, Summer Makeup Look!

Hello m'fellow Trustinvoguers and newbies! I'm trying to post much more daily now, so there should be plenty of posts going up this month! Following on from my previous post of my 2 OOTDs due the 2 birthdays (my nephew's 1st birthday and my mum's 51st). If you like, you can check out that post by clicking here! Anyway,  I'll be showing you one of the looks, how to achieve it, and what products I used. I tend to stick to similar products throughout my regular makeup routine.

MAKEUP LOOK NUMBER ONE:

This is probably my most favourite makeup look for the Summer, so starting off with the best! Due to the crazy hot weather that Britain has been experiencing, I couldn't wear lots of makeup because, let's face it, it'd just melt off. So, I tend to go for the 'bare minimal' makeup look, but without looking like I haven't made any effort at all. Something as simple as applying mascara and a slick of colour from a lipstick can make you feel and look pretty much made up.

Selfie alert!

What I used to achieve this look
(excuse the card, I passed my driving test!!)

1. Naked 2 Palette by Urban Decay - £36
2. MUA Pro-Brow Kit - £3.50
3. Volume Million Excess Lashes by L'oreal Paris - £10.99
4. White Eyeliner Pencil by MUA - £1.00
5. Lumi Magique Highlighter by L'oreal - £8.50
6. Double Take Long Hold Lipstick by Fashionista - £3.00

 How I achieved this look:

Although I didn't photograph the foundation that I used in both of these makeup looks, I used the exact same foundation so it doesn't matter too much. Firstly, I used my everyday go-to foundation which is the L'oreal True Match foundation in 'Rose Ivory'. I then proceeded to do my eyebrows, in which I used an square/flat ended brush (bare minerals) with the MUA pro-brow kit. After doing this, I then went onto my eyes. First, with the MUA white eyeliner pencil. Let me get this straight, it is AMAZING what an white eyeliner can do for your waterline. Like, seriously. White eyeliners really open up your eyes, make you look so much more fresher and alive for Summer! I don't usually wear white eyeliner a lot in the winter, but in the Summer it's a definite must. I then applied my L'oreal Volume Million Excess Lashes (GOD WHY ARE HIGHSTREET BRAND NAMES SO LONG?!) to my eyelashes which i'm actually quite pleased with as a mascara, it's quite similar to Maybelline's falsies I find. After concentrating on the eyes, I focused on my lips and cheeks. I just added my Revlon cream blush in 'pinched' to my cheeks, and a slick of my new favourite lipstick, the Double Take lipstick by Fashionista in Raspberry. I shall be reviewing this soon so look out for that!

close up shot!

2 Birthdays = 2 OOTDs

Hello m'fellow Trustinvoguers and newbies! These past couple of days have been busy busy busy! My family celebrated my nephew's very 1st birthday! (aww) and yesterday was my glamorous mummy's birthday! So, there was a lot of celebrating going on. However, I managed to fit in a couple of pictures so I can show you all what I wore for both events. Although this is just a quick welcoming-august post and showing what I wore for both days, it's a mixture of lifestyle and fashion. So, I guess something a little different from your bog-standard 'Outfit of the Day' post! Anyway, I apologize in advance for the iphone-esque images, my camera decided that it didn't want to work for me this week haha! Anyway, Enjoy!

The above image is how I chose to wear my hair. I basically went for the 'half-up-half-down' style which is a favourite of mine. To do this, I simply just pinned two pieces of my hair from either side of my head to the back, tied a bobble which fastened them together. After doing this, I would slide in my huge black ribbon bow hair clip, just to give it a nicer effect and hide the bobble that holds the hair together. Simple! I bought the hair clip from Primark about 3/4 months ago for just £3.00. The ring that I'm wearing is also from Primark, which used to be in a pack of four or five for also £3.00.

As you can see, the outfit above is what I wore for my nephew's first birthday. Simple yet classy. I've got such massive love for polka dots lately, especially seeing as they're pretty much EVERYWHERE - I would say they're bang on trend. My sheer chiffron shirt with the pretty, monochrome polka dots was from the Topshop sale last month. For Topshop, it was a right bargain for the price of just £20.00! You can't see what I wore below, however I just teamed this look with a pair of plain black leggings and black studded flats to make it more casual rather than too dressy for a kids party.

Last but not least, this is the outfit that I wore for my mum's birthday. It wasn't a party or anything like that, it was just a couple of drinks at the pub and a meal out at the local Chinese restaurant. I love this linen-style top which features a button-up all the way up the back. The front side has lots of embellished white sequins and a beautiful floral pattern which really makes it different. As soon as I saw this top I instantly fell in love with it, because it can just spruce up any outfit, as you can see, I'm just wearing a pair of high-rise jeans with it. Both top and jeans are from River Island.

Top - River Island // £30.00
Jeans - River Island // £30.00

Me and my Glam Mummy on her Birthday!

For this occasion, very much unlike to the other day I wore my hair with a plaited fringe pinned to the back of my hair. It's just a simple summery do that instantly makes your hair feel 'made up'. For an extra bit of 'oompf' I heat-rolled my hair using my all-time favourite Enrapture heatrollers just to give my hair some curl and texture. You can buy the Enrapture heat-rollers for around £70. (Trust me, they're amazing!)

Me and my Sister

I will also be doing a post on how I achieved this makeup look on both days using the same products! So stay tuned for that!
As always, let me know what you think to my OOTDS!
Lots of love, Hannah xoxo

Please don't forget to vote for my blog TRUST IN VOGUE for the Cosmo Blog Awards in the Best Newcomer category! THANK YOU.
