The Ultimate Blackhead Killer?

Hello m'fellow Trustinvoguers and newbies! I hope you're all well. I know I'm not! I'm still stuck with the dreaded freshers flu that you imminently catch, however, I'm starting to feel better so it's all good! But, I've found that 2 weeks into Uni life, has really made my skin suffer. Most likely due to the cheap junk food and all-nighters. The result? blackheads, dull looking skin and spots. Not a good look. Luckily, the lovely people over at StyleLux, sent me this brilliant '5-Pack Blackhead Killer'. I can honestly say now, it has done the trick. You can check it out here.

Lipstick of the Month | MAC Angel

Hello m'fellow Trustinvoguers and newbies! Hope you're all well, unlike myself! I'm just sitting in my pink, fluffy dressing gown nursing off my nasty freshers flu. What better way to spend the day blogging? I thought I would post a second time today, as I really need to catch up with my blogging - that and, I just couldn't RESIST telling you all about my new favourite lipstick. My 'September Lipstick' would have to be the infamous Angel by Mac. This is a baby pink colour, but also looks slightly nude. Let me tell you this, this lipstick is AMAZING. Not even joking. Last month I raved about Mac's 'Creme Cup', yet in comparsion - I think I might actually prefer Angel. Although, people would say that Creme Cup and Angel are really similar. However this particular lipstick is the perfect shade between pink and nude, without looking too baby pink like Creme Cup does. It suits the colour of your own lips, but adds a little extra oompf! Excuse the slightly scuffed packaging, as you can tell, it's already been really well loved.

RIHANNA FOR RIVER ISLAND | Is It Really Worth the Hype?

Hello m'fellow Trustinvoguers and newbies! I'm currently experiencing the infamous 'freshers flu', by staying in bed and feeling pretty sorry for myself. However! I'm not going to let you guys down with my blogging! A topic I really want to discuss today, is the latest A/W Rihanna for River Island collection. The question is, is it really worth the hype?

DISCLAIMER:
I will state the good and the bad of this collection. I will not be bias or anything!!

Now, I'm not being ironic or anything, as I did previously do a post about her first collection back in Spring and I absolutely loved it, yet things have changed. The clothes? Just aren't that nice for the huge pricetag. No offense to all you RiRi fans out there, (I love her too!) but I'm just not feeling the style of this collection.
Once again, the designs tend to be either plain or simple prints, which of course, can work for a marketing point of view, and the customer can wear it time and time again. BUT, the dress below? I suppose it's alright if it rains and you want to stick it over your head. But from a fashion perspective? Hmm. Maybe if the colours stuck to monochrome black and white, take away the hood and leave that sexy slit up the side? Bingo! I just think it's too out there for the majority of people to wear. Especially for £60. Yeah, you read that correctly. However, I do know that the quality of the fabrics are really good and don't go all horrible in the wash.

Now don't get me wrong. It's not just me that's criticizing the collection. I've actually asked numerous people what they thought of it, as well as working for River Island myself - all the employees think the same thing.  Of course, I don't want to be too negative, hence why I'll say some good points about the product such as the slit reaching the thigh of the model in the dress above. .

G4LIFE Beano hat? Acceptable. Totally Unsexy underwear that I can only HOPE isn't supposed to be worn in public, not so much. In my opinion, I think the Rihanna collection should be more suitable for everyone with the essence of Rihanna, but not just her own taste. Does that even make any sense? Like, who in their right mind (unless they're some sort of modern MC Hammer) wear those  leather trousers? Well, in my personal opinion anyway! Especially for £120. That's just plain crazy! Celebrity endorsed or not.

However, No fear! it's not all bad. I do actually like a few items from her collection that aren't too out there, and aren't too expensive for what it is. For example, the oversized G4LIFE shirt dress is really cool and casual, which is both wearable and to Rihanna's own taste. It's said to be inspired by her 'court-side' style, and this black jersey material, shirt dress is this season's sporty-off-duty trend. Not only that, it doesn't cost a billion pounds - just a middle of the road £40. Thumbs up Ri!!

What do you think to the Rihanna for River Island AW Collection?
Is it just me who thinks the majority of the products aren't as great as the last collection?
As always, let me know!
Lots of love, Hannah xoxo

How to: Bake a Mouth-Watering Chocolate Button Cake!

Hello m'fellow Trustinvoguers and newbies!!  To venture away a little from my usual Fashion & Beauty orientated posts, I've gone for something a little bit more, shall we say, 'lifestyle' today. I'm going to be showing you, how to bake THE most scrumptious mouth-watering cake that was ever baked. Well, maybe to not that extend - but it is damn tasty! Follow the step by step below, and see how I made a DELICIOUS chocolate button cake. *you can use a different topping if you wish*

INGREDIANTS:

For the cake:
1. Preheat the oven to 180C/350F/Gas 4. Grease and line two sandwich/cake tins. I simply used butter.

2. For the cake, place all of the cake ingredients, except the boiling water, into a large mixing bowl. Using a wooden spoon, or electric whisk, beat the mixture until smooth and well combined.

3. Add the boiling water to the mixture, a little at a time, until smooth. (The cake mixture will now be very liquid.)

4Divide the cake batter between the sandwich tins and bake in the oven for 25-35 minutes, or until the top is firm to the touch

5. Remove the cakes from the oven and allow to cool completely, still in their tins, before icing

6. LEAVE THE ICING FOR 1-2 HOURS AFTER. For the chocolate icing, heat chocolate (I used some Dr Okter Chocolate I think!) and the double cream together in a saucepan. However, only do this until the chocolate melts! Then take it off the heat, and whisk/stir until the mixture is thick and almost, glossy.

7. To assemble the cake, run a round-bladed knife around the inside of the cake tins to loosen the cakes. Carefully remove the cakes from the tins.

8. Spread a little bit of icing across on top of one of the cakes, then carefully put the other half of the cake on top.

9. Transfer the cake onto a plate, and spread the chocolate icing evenly across the top and sides if you wish.

10. Add decorations! For my chocolate cake, I added chocolate buttons - yum!

 whisk the eggs!

put it all in the bowl...
 measure out veg oil!
 add milk!
 Stir..
 Until it reaches this consistency!
For the icing, add the chocolate and double cream to heat..
Take off the heat once choc has melted, and whisk!

Looking lovely and risen in the oven!
 spreading the icing...
 adding the chocolate buttons!
 Woah-lah! The end result!

What do you think to my Chocolate Button Cake?
As always, let me know!
Lots of love, Hannah xoxo

IT'S A PRIMARK HAUL! | August/September

Hello m'fellow Trustinvoguers and newbies! I've got a goodie-filled Primark haul for you all today, because I know how much you love them! All of these items are from the last week or two of August, however you will find most of these items still in store as they're A/W products. This is why I've named the post 'August/September'! Anyway, I've bought a variety of things, everything from university room items, to clothes and other accessories. I have also done a Youtube video on this haul, so you can see what the products actually look like through.. movement. Yeah. Haha! Anyway, you can check out my video here:
Please don't forget to subscribe!!

The three items pictured below, are probably my favourite items of the entire month of August! They're so easy to wear, versatile in every way. For example, I wore Number 1, the Orange-coloured vest to work, before heading out for drinks with my family. I also picked one up in Pink (Number 3), in the exact same style. They both feature a racerback, and a cute little diamante stud that's attached to the small pocket. This can easily be removed if you don't like it! Number 2, is also a favourite for me. I LOVE the colour red on me, I just think it naturally suits blondes. What's amazing about this particular shirt, is that it I'SNT SEE THROUGH. How bloomin' amazing is that?! I know what you're thinking. A Primark shirt? That's not see-through?! Yep. You heard right. Or rather saw what I wrote if we want to be technical! The shirt isn't too sheer which I absolutely love, as It's so so annoying having to wear vests underneath blouses/shirts because they're practically transparent. I believe they also have these shirts in a Cream colour, grey and maybe black but i'm unsure on that.

1. Orange Vest Top - £4.00
2. Red Shirt - £9.00
3. Pink Vest Top - £4.00

As i'm going to University in 2 weeks (eek!) I decided to pick up some bedding. I got this Primark duvet cover set for just £6.00 reduced from £9.00. How great is that?! I really like the little love hearts sprawled across it, and it's one of those covers that you can have either way round on your bed. Awesome! I've subconsciously gone for a pink-themed room, let's hope I don't get too sick of pink when i'm there!

Single Duvet Cover Set - £6.00

This next item, is probably my favourite Item of the A/W season, and It hasn't even begun yet! I'm in love. Literally, IN LOVE. Have you SEEEN that fur collar?! I can't get enough of this coat. The big puffy faux fur collar is like something you'd find sitting on a Topshop or River Island coat. It doesn't feel ratty or anything that you'd expect, which is a really nice surprise. You can even adjust the waist as you tight or loose as you wish to have it, which is a really nice added touch. As always, leather, black and khaki are my go-to colours when it comes to winter coats, I will tell you this now - Khaki, you will find almost EVERY winter on a coat, it's that popular and always on trend. I personally love the leather sleeves attached to the main khaki body, it's such a beautiful blend of colours and textures and just aaah! Enough said.

Winter Coat - £27.00

Last but not least, I also picked up this pretty (and definitely different) necklace. The reason why it's so different? Well, look at it! I haven't really seen anything out there like this to be honest. The thick chain with the embossed pink string and rhinestones really comes together and makes a great statement necklace piece. It looks SO pretty with the pink vest top (as pictured above), and under jumpers and collars for the cold winter season. It's a great 'pick-me-up' to any outfit, that's why I love it so much (and statement necklaces in general!) because they add an extra Oomph!

Statement Necklace - £4.00
