Hello m'fellow Trustinvoguers and newbies! Today I've opted for a different kind of post from my usual fashion/beauty side of things. Seeing as i've been frequently apologizing over the last couple of months due to the sheer amount of Uni work that i've had, I thought why not share a small part of that with you guys!
One of my courses 'modules' is to create a fashion installation, and decide where you would have it, and what the visitor experience of that particular installation would be like. Not only that, you had to choose from a list of brands, from Chanel, Lego, Levis, and more. I decided to challenge myself a little bit, and so I went with Barbie. I then went on to create my completely original idea of a Barbie Installation. I almost knew what I wanted to do immediately, and after a lot of thought process and planning, this is what I came up with.
I liked the idea of mixing physical barbies, with digital print together - instead of using barbie heads on the corset area. I think this gave off a much, much better effect. Poundland Barbie's are a lifesaver! ;)
I also used a measuring tape from the local town market in Newcastle for around 50p, which wasn't bad at all really. This completed the look of my 'Barbie Mannequin', as it acted as the belt around the waistline. My general idea was all about the Controversy of Barbie, and how it has changed over time with its proportions of the doll and how it has been altered and developed.
What do you guys think to my Barbie Installation?
As always, let me know!
Lots of love,
