CHRISTMAS EVE/DAY MAKEUP | TUTORIAL

Hey guys! I'm trying my hardest to keep posting as frequently as possible, however, at this time of year, that's nearly impossible. I work part-time in retail, and everyone who works in retail or has knows how mad it is at this time of year. Long hours, dealing with stressed customers and worst of all - not much time for blogging! So, when I had some time the other day, I wanted to do something a little bit different for me compared to my usual fashion-based posts.....

STYLE IN THE COUNTRY | HOME FOR CHRISTMAS

I have finally finished my first semester of my second year at University, and I never been so glad to come home for the Christmas holidays. After a stressful few months, I don't think I have ever appreciated the Christmas break so much. I love where I live, and it feels so good to be out of the city and breathe some fresh air with my little labrador. Although, I do tend to take the fashion out of the city, and back to the country with me. In my opinion, I see no reason why you can't be stylish and glam in the countryside!

REDKEN BLONDE IDOL KIT | HAIRTRADE

Hi guys! Firstly, I apologize for my lack of posting. My blog has had to take a back seat this past month because of the sheer amount of University work that I've had to deal with. However, I have finally finished this week until mid January so I now have plenty of time to dedicate to my blog! Anyway, on to the beauty - related post. I was recently kindly sent this Redken Blonde Idol kit (£22.80) from Hairtrade, which I believe is a limited edition Christmas themed version. It features a Redken Shampoo, Customized Conditioner (sounds intriguing doesn't it?) and a FREE Maybelline Big Eyes mascara, just as a little bonus....

LONDON VIBES | OOTD

Last week I travelled down to London for the day, even though by time I got there I only had a few hours to kill, I had to check out the sights! This particular outfit is a new favourite of mine - it's a definite winter warmer for the colder days ahead. Texture, print and accessories all combined as a monochrome theme together work really well....

ALL BLACK EVERYTHING | AUTUMN WALKS

November is always the month when you start to feel the chill, the day's become shorter and the skies darker. It's that time of year when you really need to start wrapping up, wearing your winter coat from last year that's stuffed at the back of your wardrobe and a cosy scarf to keep the cold breeze out. This particular day, I just felt like wearing all black with just a dash of red with the checked scarf from Primark. You can never truly go wrong with black, it is definitely the most flattering colour on any body shape, and it's that time of year when you can wear it over and over again.....

CASUAL CHECK & FAUX FUR | OOTD

This is possibly my go-to favourite outfit as of late, I find that my style changes quite a lot, and at the moment I'm enjoying dressing down and looking quite casual with over-sized shirts and darker colours. I picked up this perfectly sized checked shirt from Zara last week, for just £29.99 which was in their basics section - but this shirt looks and feels far from 'basic'. I combined it with the black fur gilet from New Look, to add a bit of texture to the overall look.....

HOW TO: RE-FURBISH YOUR LAPTOP

For University, I very nearly bought a Mac-book pro, the retina display, clean design and all the other technical stuff that makes it, well, 'fast'....it's all very tempting - but it just wasn't within my budget. I couldn't justify spending that much money when I'm already happy with what I already have. So, I decided that my Acer windows laptop needed a re-boot to look more appealing to use. Both internal and design wise! I've had this laptop for a few years now, and felt it was starting to look a little rough around the edges. After doing some research, I stumbled across the perfect style. Me being me, I immediately lusted after the floral skins and matching cases to go with it....

LAST MINUTE EASY SKELETON MAKEUP | HALLOWEEN

Hi guys! So, I thought I would try my hand at something a little bit different and new. Halloween's fast approaching, and I wanted to try a few different looks before deciding on a final theme. One of the makeup looks that I enjoyed doing the most, was the skeleton one - as it's super easy for anyone to do, and it's achievable through just using cosmetic makeup alone - no need to go spending £10+ on a face-painting kit for one night! By the way, I am in NO WAY a pro, this is amateur at it's best and was rather rushed - I'm not a great artist in any shape or form, but hopefully this could help someone in a last minute rush to look Halloween ready.....

RIVER ISLAND AUTUMN WISHLIST | HIGH-STREET STYLE

As most of you will probably know by now, for years River Island has been my ultimate favourite high-street retail chain. I have always managed to find a thing (or two) that I've wanted at least every month, and this A/W '14 season has been no exception. From chunky cowl necks, tartan prints and cosy knitwear, River Island have been on point yet again this year, and this particular wishlist is just a narrowed down list from this month! I believe there's something to suit everyone's tastes, from basics to prints, to varied textures and accessories....

MINI PRIMARK HAUL | OCTOBER

Hi guys! Apologies for the lack of posting recently, Uni work has stepped it up a notch, so I've barely had the time to sit down with a nice hot chocolate and write a blog post. But, of course, I did find the time to pop into the local Primark! (oops) so I thought i'd share with you all what I picked up. I was feeling rather autumnal, and wanted little key pieces to use and wear to spruce up my everyday looks a little bit more. All of the items come together for just under £10, which i'm completely happy with, as I can use them most of the time....

TAKE A BITE OUT OF HALLOWEEN | ALLSAINTS GUEST POST

Ding dong, fashion isn’t dead. Instead, a spell has been cast on our pre-winter wardrobe and it’s turning the traditional horror themed costumes into outfits you could translate into seasonal pieces. Think Selene from Underworld, Twilight’s Bella and Stella from 30 Days of Night whose styles range from heavy duty leather boots to distressed jeans, laddered knitwear and ox blood coloured garments.
Halloween doesn’t have to mean dressing up in a costume you only wear once, be clever by mixing and matching key pieces on the day that would look equally as stylish on their own or toned down for a more casual look, no matter what day of the year. Whether you have plans to go out with friends at a local hot spot or you’re attending a dinner party, or even just have solid plans to put your feet up and tuck into some horror flicks, AllSaints have this year’s must have knitwear to bring together a look that is more snug and less chilling.....

PUT YOUR FEET UP

Opting for a film night in? What better way than to spend it lounging in a jumper dress and beanie hat. Tie the outfit together with a skinny leather belt at the waist and a chunky Roberto Cavalli necklace. If you need to pop out or need something to keep your toes toasty, make sure you’ve got a pair of low biker boots to hand.

GEORGE WISHLIST | ASDA COLLABORATION

Asda. You would immediately think of your regular food shop wouldn't you? However, it offers so much more than that. Within Asda, it has the 'George' clothing range - and I'm not just talking about the usual school uniform. Dresses, shoes, jackets, accessories - nearly everything you can think of. I'll be the first to admit that it's not my first thoughts to go shopping at a supermarket for clothes, I think of pasta and what sauce to have it with that night, rather than looking at the clothes section- and it's the same for you guys. However, when I actually went onto the website and checked out their current dress range I was quite impressed. Their clothing line is both affordable and stylish, which is right up my street. As a student, I need to think of the pennies(and the pasta of course)! There's plenty of choice to suit a wide variety of people's particular tastes, but all of the above are my picks that I really like, from a glitzy night-out dress on the town to a simple skater one for during the day. Keep on reading to see how I would style them up....

THE JESSICA LACE DRESS | SUGARHILL BOUTIQUE

First of all, apologies for not posting in a while, Uni has begun and I have caught the inevitable 'freshers flu' even though I'm an old second year now! I'm starting to feel better though, especially since receiving this gorgeous dress in the post. Sugarhill Boutique are definitely a new favourite brand of mine, and one that should be noticed. I have reviewed one of their products before, which you can see here - which I was super pleased with. However, this sultry red/ burgundy Jessica dress is on a whole other level. There's nothing that I love more than wearing red, as I just feel the colour goes well with blonde hair and it's perfect for night outs on the town or casual cocktails with the girls.....

GREY STYLING | H&M CHECKED SKIRT

This season I find one of the biggest trends to look out for, is grey. It's everywhere at the moment, from the catwalks to the high-street store merchandise. Some people think it looks dull and boring. But I disagree. It's how you style it and twist it up that matters. Whether it's a slightly different shade of grey (I'm not talking the book!) or a printed pattern. It's the little details that count, make a difference and change an outfit's overall aesthetic. With this particular outfit, I added accessories, pattern and slightly different shades all mixed together to create a trendy look that anyone can pull off....

AUTUMN LAYERING | PLAID RED SHIRT

I spotted this gorgeous red, plaid shirt the other day in H&M, and I instantly thought of Autumn/Winter, there's something about that pattern and the colours that just reminds me of colder days and the leaves turning brown. It's also a great item to use for layering, you could wear it with a black fur gilet, leather jacket or coat - the possibilities are endless. But, be careful not to use anything else with too much pattern going on, as it would then look quite distracting. Because there's so much going on with the shirt, I decided to keep the general look quite minimal and simple - hence the jeans and plain black, long-sleeved top.....

'BACK TO SCHOOL' WITH NEW LOOK | MY OLD UNIFORM

Bad hair, creased skirts and shameful boyish Gola bags. Oh, those were the school days. As embarrassing showing you what I looked like back in 2010 is, it is all educational, after all haha! The 'back to school' campaign is all about getting you guys to look more fashionable than I ever did. To be fair, my uniform wasn't nearly as bad as the neighboring schools with red fluorescent ties and maroon shapeless blazers (not pretty). Whereas, our School consisted of a simple navy attire, jumper with a white shirt underneath, and the choice of either navy trousers or pleated skirt for the girls. Of course, some opted for navy body-con skirts, which were for - the rebellious ones! - and were banned straight away. You can't really see much in these images, but my Mum would always try get me into the clumpy Clarks shoes, trying to reassure me how stable and functional they were. I remember that I would beg and beg for the pretty ballerina pumps from a 'proper high-street store'. Now, this is where New Look comes in to save your day.....

SEPTEMBER WISHLIST | RIVER ISLAND & TOPSHOP

Hi guys! Apologies for not posting as frequently as I normally do in the past week, it's been pretty hectic as I've moved back up to Newcastle to start my second year at University. So, unfortunately I just haven't had the time to post until now. But now I'm getting into a routine again, it should start to pick up! Sorting out your electric bill, starting a new job and getting ready for uni can be both a pretty stressful and chaotic time. So, of course, that means retail therapy. I've had my eyes on quite a few bits from Topshop & River Island......

ORGANZA WHITE SHIFT DRESS | LAUNDRY BOUTIQUE

I have been searching for the perfect LWD (little white dress) all Summer, and when Laundry Boutique kindly offered to review a piece of their clothing, I immediately opted for this number. Although it is now September (crazy!) I still feel like you can still wear this now on a night out or throughout the day - before Autumn truly settles in. The embroidery, transparent sleeves and detailing is so beautiful, and definitely so 'me'. It's one of those dresses that you can wear during the day with a blazer and handbag, or own it's own with a pair of white or nude heels. See how I styled it up....

THE MESH PINK DRESS | WAL G

Bright hot pink with revealing mesh details? Definitely something that I wouldn't normally initially go for. However, my mind completely changed once I put it on, and had styled it up with my trusty black leather jacket from Zara, with the classic converse. The Wal G pretty pink number is not to everyone's taste, but you can style it and make it your own. It's a very rock-meets-girl kind of look, with the mixture of deep pink and dark black going on. But, I kind of like it. It's very different and edgy in comparison to what I would usually wear, and sometimes, it's good to step out the box and out of your comfort zone. For just £35, this dress is worth every penny. Read on to know why.....

HOW TO: SURVIVE FRESHERS | UNIVERSITY GUIDE

Hi guys! First of all, well done to all of you that got your results and are off to Uni, wherever that may be! As you may or may not know, I will be going into my 2nd year in September, so I thought it would be only fitting to let you all know what you're letting yourselves in for at uni life. I know that most of you will be feeling worried, asking yourself loads of questions like Will I fit in? What if nobody likes me? But you've just got to remember that everybody is in the same boat as you, and all those worries WILL disappear. This, is my 'How to: Survive Freshers' guide, with the main tips that I would give to the newbies....

MONORCHOME STRIPES & RED WEDGES | QUIZ CLOTHING

I do love stripes and monochrome, so when Quiz Clothing kindly sent me this pleated skater dress, I couldn't wait to get my hands on it. I've noticed that Quiz have developed drastically over the past year and increased their blogger outreach - in turn, their clothing has become much more on trend, stylish and versatile. Whereas admittedly before, I never used to really go into a store until recently. This particular dress is a prime example of that. To me, it has a very '60s vintage vibe going on, so I went with that and added the red shoes and red lip (Bobbi Brown Red 10!) to really pull it all together. The contrasting red clashes perfectly with the black/cream stripes without looking too much. It's a great colour-blocking technique. Although, like with anything, it does have it's positives and negatives.....

THE DIAMOND DRY CUT | MICHAEL VAN CLARKE

Situated in the up-town district of inner London, is the Michael Van Clarke salon, tucked away on Beaumont street. My google maps app on my iphone came in handy, taking me from the bustling Oxford street through to the quiet clean ones of the Marylebone area. It immediately hit me how beautiful this salon was - the outside already looked inviting with the half-frosted windows and natural trees. A nice contrast against the towering buildings and surrounding offices. I was around 15 minutes early to my appointment, but it was thundering outside and I didn't have an umbrella. So, in I went to an exclusive and professional hairdressers, with my own hair looking pretty worse for wear......

48 HOURS IN IBIZA | SWIMWEAR365

Swimwear365 have challenged me to show what I would get up to, if I had 48 hours on the sun-kissed party isle of Ibiza. Tight schedule, but not impossible - and well, I sure do love a challenge. I can think of plenty of things that I would do if I had the chance. I'm a very spontaneous yet plan-ahead kind of person, so here is my jam-packed fun itenary. I haven't been to Ibiza before, so dreaming of the Paradise island and being whisked away from the concrete jungle of Leeds is a pure fantasy - and I could really do with an injection of sun, sea and sand in my life! For many, Ibiza means endless partying and terrible hangovers. I do love a good night-out, and I probably would hit the world-famous Pacha club just to experience the most popular party place on earth. But, if I had the opportunity to visit, I would definitely spend more time exploring than just being hungover in the hotel room! Whether it's relaxing on a golden beach and dipping in the crystal blue waters of the Mediterranean, or visiting the Old town and wondering down the hippy markets. Ibiza has a massive cultural charm other than its labelled party-lifestyle. This year, massive A-listers from Kim K to Orlando Bloom have been at the hot-spots, so it seems to definitely be the place to be....

'GEORGIE' DRESS | CHI CHI LONDON

I'm the kind of girl who loves a good party dress, but that is classic and girly without being too revealing. This 'Georgie' Chi Chi skater dress is the perfect option. It can be worn for a day-time stroll in the park, or cocktails in an up-town bar. It is very much a day-to-night dress, from casual flats and a cardigan, or dressed up with court heels and leather jacket combo. The lace on the bodice area is elegant-looking and actually has a few sequins sewn within it too. I know what you're thinking. "I bet that will look tacky.." but you're completely wrong. It isn't overloaded with them, and it just catches the sunlight and makes the dress glisten, without looking like you're an extra in Twilight. But seriously though, who doesn't want a dress that glistens without looking like you're old primary school disco dress (cringe - let's not go there). Interested to hear more? Carry on reading.....

MY BLONDE HAIR HISTORY | JEROME RUSSELL HIGHLIGHTING KIT

One of the most irritating things about being a blonde, is up-keeping your roots. It's a massive pain. Even though I actually am a natural blonde, when I was in my early teens it started to go a darker/dirtier blonde colour - so I just kept highlighting it and highlighting it, until it gradually became blonder and blonder. If I don't have the money or time to go to the hairdressers, then I turn to the next best thing. The 'Bblonde Hightlighting Kit' by Jerome Russell. Now, I have actually been using this stuff for years, and I'm so impressed with it, so when they kindly offered to review a package for me just when my roots needed touching up, I thought, why not show you guys the results. Even my sister (she did my hair for me, thanks sis!) who is a hairdresser swears by this brand. Keep reading to see the results and my own hair history.....

AUTUMN/WINTER WISHLIST | RIVER ISLAND

Hi guys! So it's been a while since I've done a wish-list based post, and I wanted to do one purely because of all the Autumn/Winter ranges that are starting to slowly hit the shops. Now, don't get me wrong, I absolutely love Summer and I am in no way wishing it away - but I can't help but get excited for winter clothes and new trends! After all, the weather in Britain isn't always so fabulous, some of these particular items you can even get away with wearing now. Also - it had to be from my favourite high-street store - River Island. I've had my eye on plenty of new arrivals these past few weeks, so I thought why not share them with you all....

A DAY IN LONDON | RIVER ISLAND PLAYSUIT

A few days ago, I visited one of my favourite cities ever - London. From the bustling world-renown oxford street, to the much quieter and cleaner ones in Soho, it made for the perfect backdrop for an ootd post. It was super hot, so throughout the day I completely changed my outfit for the Missguided AW event (see my last post here) into this light blue number from River Island. Lightweight, comfortable and stylish - it's a girl's pastel dream. Featuring short sleeves, a gold-tone zip back fastening and clinched in waist, it's a great day-to-night alternative....

MISSGUIDED A/W '14 EVENT | EXCLUSIVE PREVIEW

I attended the #MISSGUIDEDAW14 press event (thanks so much for inviting me!) and what was in store was above and beyond my expectations. The venue was tucked away in a little side street of Soho, and the inside of it was transformed into a beautiful woodland theme. A high contrast to the outside bustling streets of London. Antler's on the walls, logs and fur throws - you name it. Everything was beautifully displayed, and I was already thoroughly impressed. There were rails jam-packed full of gorgeous clothes -think of an array of textures, muted colours and an explosion of floral prints in a wide variety of styles and designs. I also spotted a few co-ordinates here and there, which I'm so happy to see are carrying on through to next season....

PINK HAIR EXTENSIONS | HAIRTRADE REVIEW

Recently, I've been wanting to change up my look, go for something different and just rebel from the 'normal' looking me. So, I thought to myself, what is the best way to change? I instantly thought of my hair. However, I do love being a blonde too much - so when Hairtrade kindly sent me these light pink, clip-in hair extensions - I was thrilled. An opportunity to look different, without it being permanent. The 'quick-length piece' is super easy to apply, and It instantly blends into your hair for that dip-dye effect, it mixes perfectly into my blonde locks without looking too fake or tacky - which is always a plus! I just really like how it looks very subtle, and the length match is perfect.....

CARA DELEVINGNE | TOPSHOP A/W 14

Miss Cara D has been on the lips of most fashionistas, she's struts her stuff at almost every high-end fashion show (Burberry, Mulberry, Chanel...) and is pretty much besties with Karl Lagerfield. At the age of just 21, British model Cara Delevingne has taken the fashion-modelling world by storm, some say she is even reaching the heights of Kate Moss. Her fun-loving personality is so infectious. No wonder Topshop chose the budding star to become their face of their latest A/W campaign - solo! She acts as the perfect leading lady for the job, and it's easy to see why....

25 RANDOM FACTS ABOUT ME!

Hi guys! I did something a little bit different this week, I filmed a '25 facts about me' video, and I would love it if you could check it out! There's some interesting stuff in there about me that you may not know, and I thought it would be something different and fun to do from my usual fashion-based posts. If you enjoyed the video don't forget to subscribe to my channel here, and give the video a big thumbs up!

As always,
let me know what you think!
lots of love,
Hannah xoxo

DOG-TOOTH CIGARETTE TROUSERS & CROCHET | TOPSHOP OOTD

Dog-tooth. The print always seem's to be coming back around, and i'm not afraid to admit that I love it. It's a super cool pattern to wear, and it's definitely very eye-catching! These cigarette trousers are from Topshop, and I first noticed them on the mannequin at the front of the shop - they immediately caught my attention. Which is always a good thing. Tailored and flattering, they are perfect to wear from a long day at work to cocktails on a friday night! They're really smart and fitted, but it's so easy to pair them with different tops and jackets to create different looks for a wide variety of situations.....

MARCHESA NEWS | LONDON FASHION WEEK

British Brand Marchesa are returning to London for a one-off show at London Fashion Week this September. The highly-anticipated move will have fashion enthusiasts and socialites clambering for a front row seat, as this is going to be special one. Usually, they're based in New York City, and always hold their shows full of extravagant show-stopping dresses at NYFW. However, to mark their 10th anniversary, the luxury label have decided to go back to their roots and showcase their Spring/Summer 2015 collection in London. Designed by none other than Georgina Chapman and Karen Craig, they will no doubt provide an injection of glossy glamour to the hectic LFW Schedule, that I'm sure all will be looking forward to see.....

THE SMART NAVY PLAYSUIT | WAL G

Another day, calls for another outfit post - why, of course! Today, is all about this gorgeous, tailored navy play-suit that was kindly sent to me from clothing label, Wal G. Until recently, I haven't heard that much about the label, in fact, I only first started seeing it crop up within the Topshop concessions section, alongside the other favourites such as Oh my Love, Love Clothing and Rare. However, Wal G's products looked different, they looked smart, flattering and super cool - which is hard to find! I personally love how you can dress this particular play-suit up with a statement necklace and a pair of heels because of the V-neckline crossover, but, you can also go casual and get away with wearing it with tights, boots and a classic leather jacket. The possibilities ane endless because of it's plain navy colour and simple, subtle design....

BOTANICAL BLOUSE | SUGARHILL BOUTIQUE REVIEW

I love anything with a floral pattern on, shirts, dresses, trousers - you name it. So, when Sugarhill Boutique kindly sent me this gorgeous botanical blouse, I was over the moon. The off-white number has vibrant watercolour-effect florals scattered all across it, and it looks beautiful. This blouse reminds me of something from Zara, as the quality feels amazing. When I first saw it neatly folded in the transparent packaging, I thought it would have that horrible crinkly texture that cheap blouses and shirts usually tend to have. But I was pleasantly surprised, as it felt silky and comfortable when i put it on, and for £38 it is well worth every penny....

SOMETIMES, WE JUST NEED TO ESCAPE | OOTD

Sometimes, we just need to escape - and I definitely needed to this week. That is why I've been a little bit off the radar, just to clear my head and get back on track. Inspired by Zoella's post from last year, I thought that it is really important to take a time-out and to get away to de-stress every now and again, otherwise you just wouldn't function properly. I find that the most calming place on Earth, for me, is by the sea, and one of my favourite places is the sandy Yorkshire beaches in the North of England - more specifically - Cayton Bay. I've been coming to this little undiscovered-by-tourists area for years, and I love how it looks so beautiful and untouched....

THE BRITISH FASHION DESIGNER TO LOOK OUT FOR: CLAIRE BARROW

British fashion is always world-renown, unique and diverse - it is the one that I most look forward to out of all the main capitals during Fashion week. Every once in a while, someone new comes along and re-ignites that creative spark that people in the industry love. That spark takes it's form in fashion's latest heroine, that is Claire Barrow. I feel like Claire deserves a mention on my blog, as not only is her work extremely fascinating and successful, I also did one of my University modules on her work. She's best known for her trademark of painting on leather jackets and turning something old into something, well, new! Her grunge-meets-floral persona within the work is so different, and is probably why it's proven such a popular hit. She has even designed for the likes of Rihanna, which since then, has seen her work sky-rocketing...

GINGHAM CO-ORDINATES | ARK CLOTHING | BRITISH NICHE

Gingham print isn't something that I would usually go for - in fact, I would normally shy away from it - just because it's so different and, well, out there. However, on my lunch break from work I was wondering through a couple of shops until I saw it. The moment when I finally caved to the fashion trend, and it was this beautifully fitted two-piece from Ark Clothing. If you haven't already heard of Ark, then you should! Originated from Leeds (my hometown!) Ark is gradually expanding their retail chain and becoming more and more popular. They've probably been right up there with my favourite high-street stores for years, and I love how they stock such versatile and stylish clothing - but hate how they're so underrated! Fellow fashion bloggers and readers, go check out my worst kept secret! You can see Ark's website here. As I was saying - Gingham? It's definitely got a '60s vibe to it, and I always wanted to find the perfect two piece that wasn't as smart-looking as my Topshop co-ords, which you can read all about here. This gorgeous set, however, stood out from all the others that I've looked at - simply because of how it fits, (and looks!) and for £40 it's well worth the money. I can see myself wearing it with wooly black tights and my leather jacket during the colder months in the UK, so it serves pretty much all seasons....

WARDROBE TOUR! | HOW I STORE MY CLOTHES

Hi guys! I thought I would do something a little bit different and personal, compared to my usual dream-like wishlists and outfit of the days! So, I decided to do a wardrobe tour / how I store my clothes! Now, it's nothing too fancy or overly exciting such as a walk-in wardrobe with a secret compartment for all your sunglasses and jewellery like in the Princess Diaries (although, that would be awesome!) but it's just where everything goes that you see in all the pictures. From blazers to shirts, dresses to kimono's - I've got quite a collection slowly beginning to build up - and whilst I'm at home from Uni with a proper wardrobe - I thought it best to show you now, what it all normally should look like! I have also done a Youtube video on this, which you can see more clearly and goes into a bit more detail, which you can see here.

MINI RIVER ISLAND WISHLIST

This week I've spotted some really trendy-looking products in my local River Island store, and they're definitely going to be my pay-day treats! Whenever I spot something, I always mentally note it down to show you guys what I've been loving, and this particular week it's River Island - as they're knocking it out of the park with their new arrivals! From shoes to sunglasses, bags to clothes there's something for every season and occasion. I also love how you can style each thing with something completely random and different, that can be worn time and time again. Although I do love trends and fashion comes and goes, I'm an absolute avid bargain-hunter, I like to know that I'm getting my monies worth. That's why when it comes to spending, I ask myself, will I get my wear out of this item? Well, all of the above tick the right boxes....

THE TOPSHOP TWO-PIECE | CO-ORDINATES

I may have found the ultimate two-piece co-ordinates. Topshop, you've done it again! It all began with a dreary monday afternoon (this is starting to sound like a story?! oops) which lead to a spot of internet browsing. I was instantly brightened up when I clicked on to the Topshop co-ordinates page, where amongst the smart/casual sets, and spotted this beautiful ensemble. I would say that it was most definitely 'love at first sight' purchase, which I really need to stop myself doing! However, the intricate detail on the clothing really appealed to me, as I think it makes it look truly unique and different. Then of course, there's the striking electric blue, pop of colour - it's certainly one way to stand out on a night on the town! I love how it looks super smart, yet it's also a casual off-duty look as it shows a bit of skin, without being too revealing....

FESTIVAL FEVER | PART TWO

Hi guys! This is the final post of my three-part 'festival fever' fashion series, brimming full of ideas as to what you can wear for any festival, be it Glastonbury, V Festival or the infamous Leeds/Reading Fest. Not everything is to most people's tastes, however, you can just take elements of each outfit away - such as a the shoes, a kimono or even a pair of sunglasses. It's just to give some inspiration to those that need it, otherwise you could always go for a classic pair of denim shorts and wellies! Comfort is key, as you must take into consideration what the weather may be like....

FESTIVAL FEVER | PART ONE

June is nearing it's end, and we all know what that means. Yes, the height of Summer, but it also means it's festival season! It's time to dust down last year's kimonos (or buy new ones!) grab a floral hair garland and enjoy the live music. This year will be my first festival - and I'm SO excited! I will be going to V Festival on the 16th of August, and I can't wait. As you can probably tell, I'm already styling my festival outfits! I think I've picked the best year yet to go, as my childhood love Justin Timberlake will be prancing about on the headliner stage doing his swooning, and then favourite Bastille will be rocking it out - best of both worlds! I want to look good, but be comfortable and not too sweaty or cold at the same time, because who knows what the great British weather will deliver! This is a three-part series of different outfits that I have chosen for my festival antics....

WEDNESDAY WISHLIST | CO-ORDINATES

C-oords are everywhere recently, from major online retailers such as Missguided.co.uk and Boohoo.com, to the high-street chains of River Island and Topshop. With a huge variety of choice and a wide price-range, there is something for everyone. These particular coordinates that I have cherry-picked out are a little bit of everything - floral, geometric and plain monochrome. Otherwise known as the main, killer trends of 2014. I am trying to go for a little bit more colour, but I always seem to be drawn to the classic black/white garments which always seem much more flattering for my body shape! Oops! Anyway, here are the main co-ordinate contenders of this week's 'Wednesday Wishlist'....

PINK TO MAKE THE BOYS WINK | OOTD

Hi guys! I have yet another 'outfit of the day' post for you all today, featuring these beautiful, baby-pink fitted cigarette trousers from Zara.  It was a love at first sight purchase, especially at just £24.99 I just couldn't say no. It's a very on trend, miami-vice style that I have going on! This is because these particular trousers have a stretchy high-waist line, (which is most likely elasticated and works really well) and it gives off a retro kind of vibe. To me, this entire outfit resembles a clean, modern twist on the '80s, with a dash of pink as the key element. Understated sophisticated chic, without looking OTT....

FLORALS, FEDORAS, AND FROCKS | OOTD

Florals, Fedoras and Frocks. Well, play-suits - but I needed another fashion word beginning with F. So It's close enough! Disclaimer. I'm not the skinniest of girls and I seem to resemble a milk bottle. But oh, well! I spotted this bright, floral number in Miss Selfridge, and I immediately pictured lots of ways to style it, be it dressed up or down. You could go for a chilled out vibe with converse/vans and a denim jacket, or vice versa with a blazer and heels. I decided to go mid-way, by pairing it with my trusty black leather jacket from Zara, and white court heels from New Look. The floppy fedora hat. My newest obsession, and must-have buy. It's a key stylish statement for an uptown girl living in a countryside, erm, world?

THE #SELFIE DRESS | OOTD

Some days, I just feel like throwing off my countless smart, tailored blazers and high stilettos, by replacing them with loose clothing and flats. However, I still like to keep a stylish and upbeat look without looking too, overly casual. I spotted this grey jersey, sleeveless dress hanging all by itself in Zara, along with the hashtag #selfie. Looking all lonely, I just had to save it. Why of course! ;) As the English weather is up and down all the time, the leather jacket was the best option to pair this particular dress with. I then tied my hair up into a loose, messy bun, as I felt having it down would distract from the words on the clothing. For shoes? My black platform, chunky-heeled boots from H&M, perfect for an outfit like this....

HOW TO | WALK IN HIGH HEELS

Walking in high heels is a skill that is acquired amongst young women in their late teens, or even earlier than that. Myself? I was always a converse and sandals kind of girl. Probably the first time I wore something with even a slight heel (that was, regrettably, kitten heels - cringe!) was at my school prom in 2011. Oh the innocent days. Don't get me wrong. I wanted to be like all the other cool girls at prom, with the sky-high stilettos and colourful wedges. But I could barely stand without a wobble, so it just wasn't an option for 16 year old me at the time. I know, that I'm not alone in this. Plenty of you have tweeted and even e-mailed, asking me FAQs such as this. I definitely think there's an art to walking in heels, at first it feels like you're on stilts! I definitely salute those french guys that danced their butts off to the likes of Beyonce on BGT. The simple fact is, heels are a girls best-friend. They make you look slimmer, taller and generally feel more confident. This is my journey from shy kitten heels to, well, 'proper' ones....

WISHLIST | RIVER ISLAND JUNE 2014

River Island are killing it this Summer. Every time I walk in to a store, I see something that I instantly want - whether it's a splash of floral print or a cool pair of ripped jeans - everything is ultra-stylish and on trend. I'e noticed that most products are also quite affordable too, compared to other, high-street retailers. One of the many reasons why River Island are fast becoming my favourite. Shh! Above are just some of the products that I'm lusting after this month, which are all wearable from day-to-night for the long summer ahead. There's something for everyone, that is both on glamorous and comfortable, ranging from the classic 90's cold shoulder dress, to beautiful, boxy blouses. What's not to like?!

DIY FLORAL HAIR GARLAND | FESTIVAL INSPIRATION

I'm obsessed with anything floral, especially hair garlands. They're the symbol of spring/summer, longer nights, warmer days and, of course, festivals. I'm going to V Festival this year, and for me, festivals are all about fringed kimonos, light-wash shorts and floral hair garlands. I figured, why not try my hand at crafty DIY? Even if it is for dummies such as myself! I must of spent about 15 minutes of my lunch break scouring the internet and googling ways to make one; all shouting different techniques and materials needed to create it. But, I thought - there must be a simpler way to make one at an affordable price. I set myself a mission to make the prettiest DIY floral garland that I could, with it being as cheap as possible too....
