Maybelline Colour Show & MUA Eyeshadow | Review

Hello m'fellow Trustinvoguers and newbies! I hope you're all well. Today is a product review of the Maybelline Color Show Nail Polish and MUA Eyeshadow. A bit of a mix and match post! This may also be the last post I will be doing for a week or so, as I'm off to New York on Monday!! Eeeek, exciting stuff! But I might try and fit one in before I go if I have time, as my schedule is so hectic at the moment with University and work commitments this week. Anyway, on to the review! The lovely people over at Mybeautycompare.com sent me these great high-street products to try out and review. I had no idea what I was getting, so it was such a nice surprise to see a mixture of Maybelline and MUA. First off, the Maybelline Color (yes, 'colour' but it's american!) Show in 'Pink Bloom'.

I love this shade, it's a gorgeous bright pink which isn't too 'in your face'.  Please excuse my ever-so-short nails! I'm also surprised at how shiny and glossy it looks after just one coat. Yep, you heard that right. ONE COAT. It's staying power is also admirable, as it's already lasted me nearly the week without a single chip. For £2.99, that's pretty good. Thumbs up Maybelline!

Next up is the bargain/makeup lovers holy grail. The MUA makeup range. I also got sent this eyeshadow in 'Shade 4 - Pearl' which is a beautiful shimmery purple colour. This costs just £1.00. Although it's not something I would usually go for, it actually looks really good against blue eyes. I only add a light amount and blend it in with 'tease' from my Urban Decay palette, to create a fun look that can take you easily from day-to-night.

Here, you can see me wearing the eye-shadow. As it's quite a bright and 'out there' colour, I blended it in and only added a small, light amount to make it look much more subtle and generally wearable. Most people would shy away from a product like this because of it's cheap price and colour range. Yet, I've grown to really like it.

Here you can truly see the pigmentation of the product. I would give this a 6/10 for staying power, as it did come off slightly during the day, yet for the price, you can't really go wrong. The texture of the eye shadow it almost dusty, alike to Barry M's glitter dust. However, it's much more manageable and durable.

What do you guys think to these products from drugstore/high-street brands, MUA and Maybelline?
Also a big thanks for Mybeautycompare.com for sending me these!
As always, let me know!
Lots of love,
Hannah xoxo

  2. Glad i stumbled across you blog. I've tried the MUA eyeshadows when they were on the 3 for 2 in superdrug, as it seemed like such a good bargain.
I do find there a little too soft for an eyeshadow and aren't the best to blend.

Just followed yours and look forward to reading more from your blog.
