Ding dong, fashion isn’t dead. Instead,
a spell has been cast on our pre-winter wardrobe and it’s turning the traditional
horror themed costumes into outfits you could translate into seasonal pieces. Think
Selene from Underworld, Twilight’s Bella and Stella from 30 Days of Night whose
styles range from heavy duty leather boots to distressed jeans, laddered
knitwear and ox blood coloured garments.
Halloween doesn’t have to mean
dressing up in a costume you only wear once, be clever by mixing and matching
key pieces on the day that would look equally as stylish on their own or toned
down for a more casual look, no matter what day of the year. Whether you have
plans to go out with friends at a local hot spot or you’re attending a dinner
party, or even just have solid plans to put your feet up and tuck into some
horror flicks, AllSaints have this year’s must have
knitwear to bring together a look that is more snug and less chilling.....
PUT YOUR FEET UP
Opting for a film night in?
What better way than to spend it lounging in a jumper dress and beanie hat. Tie
the outfit together with a skinny leather belt at the waist and a chunky
Roberto Cavalli necklace. If you need to pop out or need something to keep your
toes toasty, make sure you’ve got a pair of low biker boots to hand.
PAINT THE TOWN BLACK
Hitting the local hot spots
requires wearing pieces hot off the runway and the oxblood leather skirt is a
great place to start. Chuck on a laddered, boxy jumper and knee high boots for
some serious model factor. Bars and clubs are not the places to be carrying a
huge handbag around, so swap your day bag for a clutch bag with zip and chain
detailing, big enough to store your lippy and ID but still light enough for you
to throw out some moves on the dancefloor.
THE DINNER PARTY
Heading to a dinner party for
the evening? Make sure you’ve got sophiscated down to a t and pair your
metallic, hand embroided sweater with a black asymetric maxi skirt. A longline,
collarless leather coat will give you the best entrance while a simple clutch
and buckle shoeboots will add some edge to your look. Not to keep it too basic,
a Vivienne Westwood stacked ring will be a great focal point.
WEAR IT AFTER HALLOWEEN
Make these investment pieces
regular in your winter look by wearing your boots with light wash skinny jeans
and a fur gilet over the top of a neutral sweater at the weekend, or throw your
black jumper over the top of a charcoal jersey dress for practical layering.
Introduce your leather skirt into your work closet by teaming it up with a
white blouse, and remember to wrap your belt around a knitwear dress for an
effortlessly cool outfit.
What do you think to the Allsaints A/W collection?
Would you wear any of it?
As always, let me know!
Lots of love,
Hannah xoxo
