A NOVEMBER WEDDING | THE GUEST OUTFIT

Last week I attended my cousin's wedding, which was such a lovely event. I had never been to a wedding before - the most experience I've had is watching multiple episodes of Don't tell the Bride. So it's fair to say I was kind of excited. However, I must have struggled for MONTHS to try and find something to wear. I couldn't be too fancy - I can't wear black (my mum pointed out it would look like I'm going to funeral, fab) and I can't obviously wear white. It's also a winter wedding, so it wouldn't be right to wear lighter colours. My problem? most of the shops only stock blacks or sequins for the party season. It's fair to say I was close to giving up hope, until I spotted this dark red River Island dress just a few weeks earlier....

WINTER WONDERLAND | HYDE PARK

Hi guys! Recently I had a quick trip down to London for a uni project, (as you all know, that's all my life seems to revolve around lately!) and I just couldn't resist taking a detour to Hyde Park's famous Winter Wonderland. I've never been before, but after hearing all the hype about it, I wanted to see what it was all about, and it's fair to say it was the best Christmas market that I've ever been to....

SLATE NQ | PLACES TO VISIT IN LEEDS

Hi guys! I know, it's been a while - but I kind of explained why in my previous post here. I genuinely can't even believe that it's November - this year is absolutely flying by! Anyway, I just wanted to write about this place in Leeds, as I feel it honestly deserves some kind of recognition. It is in no way sponsored, I just was blown away by how good the food was for the price. It all started when I was on the search for somewhere relatively cheap (student budget) to eat, but looked amazing too. This, my friends, is where Slate NQ comes in....

CALLING ALL DESIGNERS | JOULES

Hi guys! I have recently been contacted on behalf of Joules, to share this amazing competition amongst you all - especially because I know that some of you who follow my blog are budding designers at University or college/sixth form. They are inviting you to design a unique wellington boot; it could be funky floral, sixties polka dots or if you're feeling adventurous, something completely wacky and 'out there'. It's completely up to you! The more outrageous the better....

5 WAYS TO DE-STRESS FROM UNI

Noir Ivoire travaille son inspiration : benchmark et crush déco ! | www.noir-ivoire.fr |:

Hi Guys!
I know, it's been a while - and I blame stress. Final year of uni has hit me in the face like a steam train. It has been non-stop, and I've had to hit the ground running on my return to Newcastle. So, I've kinda let my blog slip a little, something that I always hate to do. However, I have decided that I'm not going to constantly pressure myself to keep up with Uni work, juggle a part time job AND push in a blog post 3/4 times a week. It would probably give me a nervous breakdown! I thought what better time to create this post, 5 ways to easily de-stress when university life is getting you down....

DEICHMANN X HANNELI MUSTAPARTA

Today marks an exciting occasion for all fashion lovers out there, as shoe empire Deichmann have recently launched it's latest collection with renowned blogger & model Hanneli Mustaparta. A fashion blogger releasing a whole variety of shoes you say? That already has my seal of approval! From glittery court heels to comfortable loafers, Hanneli's range leaves your feet looking trendy, and your bank account feeling satisfied....

GREY GLAM | STYLING METALLIC

This time last year I fell in love with the colour grey and began styling it in different ways. It seems like that obsession has come back around yet again! I feel like grey is the perfect tone to phase out that Summer period, otherwise known as the awkward 'transitional stage'. But it's easy to make it work, by fading it down to grey before going for the much darker, plumy colours that we all love and know so well for Autumn....

OLIVERS MOUNT & CHOCOLATE FUDGE CAKE

This is just a quick post about somewhere pretty special - the other week I visited Scarborough, and I heard about Oliver's Mount. It is a little bit of a trek outside of the usual seaside/town centre areas that attract all the bustling tourists, but that also means it's much more quiet and serene. So, I decided to venture up to the famous (*ahem* well, to the locals) Mount above the seaside town.  I do have to admit, it does have a spectacular view and some truly delicious cake at the top....

HOW TO STYLE KHAKI | ZARA

Khaki is the latest trend to hit the high-street, it's super easy to wear and style with pretty much anything. To me, it's one of the easiest trends to nail, and it's great for that awkward 'in-between' seasons glitch. As a transitional piece, I've worked with these casual off-duty trousers from Zara, teamed with black on top to empower the khaki colour more, and tone everything else down....

ROWING, ICECREAM & ALL THINGS BEACHY | A DAY IN SCARBOROUGH

I have always loved being by the sea, no matter where it is in the world. I have travelled many places in my lifetime (and I'm not even 21 yet!) but to me, nothing beats a good old British seaside town. This, is where Scarborough comes in. I have been coming here ever since I can remember, and it's always been a firm favourite of mine. So, when I recently came back here, I thought I would document it, as it probably was one of my favourite days this Summer.....

WHAT TO EAT IN NEWCASTLE? | #TRAVELODGEFOODIES

One always knows that the way to someone's heart is through good food. Lately I have taken my hand to none other than wholesome cooking (Shocker, for some people, I know). But I have begun to branch out and try new things. So, when Travelodge challenged me to making a traditional local cuisine based around the North-East of England, in particular, Newcastle. So, what better than to pick a Geordie favourite, Pan Haggerty. Never heard of it before? Well, you will definitely want to know about it after this....

WHAT TO WEAR TO THE RACES? | #LADBROKESLADIESDAY

I have recently been kindly invited to Doncaster Races Ladies day, in association with Ladbrokes, which I'm so excited for, as I've never been before. With all this excitement comes the best bit, planning what to wear! As you all probably know, I'm always floral obsessed with pretty much everything, so these options are centered mainly around that! With plenty of heels, clutches and hats to match, this wishlist will be leaving you spoilt for choice.....

TRYING SOMETHING NEW: MEXICAN FOOD

Another foodie post! I'm getting quite into these! Not my usual fashion/beauty orientated posts, but I do have a good love of food. So, when I took a trip to Leeds for dinner, I figured why not blog about it? I will be the first to admit that, yes, I am a fussy eater. Even though I like loads of different kinds of foods, I just can't seem to stray away from from my love of tasty Italian or a good hearty pub meal. But, I decided to be brave and try something new.... Mexican!

JULY FAVOURITES | BEAUTY

I can't believe that I'm already writing about 2015's July favs. How is it August already?! July seemed to be a blur - but a month full of new beauty products for me. I wanted to try some things that I've had my eye on for ages, but there was also some spontaneous buys in there as well! From specialist brow palettes to shiny nail formulas, this past month has been a testing faze, seeing what I could potentially carry on purchasing, or leave in the dust. These particular beauty products are the ones that have stood out the most to me....

HOW I EDIT MY INSTAGRAM PHOTOS | APPS

I don't know about you, but I personally love editing photos and tweaking them just to make them look that little bit better. Whether it's fiddling with the exposure, adding a slight filter or enhancing the brightness in certain areas. Some people have 'themes' to their own Instagram profile pages, but mine is just quite random, but it's always bright, fun and something different every time. So, I just wanted to share with you my favourite app that I constantly use, so maybe you can take some inspiration away from this....

WINE, LOVE LOCKS & LOTS OF FOOD | A DAY IN LEEDS

Leeds is not only my home city, it's a thriving one. Full of new and old things to do, It's the city that people have been coming to visit more and more frequently over the past few years. Most students seem to be flocking here come September, new business ventures are opening up and more culture is being brought into its busy streets. I thought I would take you on a day out with me in Leeds, wondering around, eating lots of good food and drinking wine. What could be better?......

JUNE FAVOURITES | BEAUTY

This month I have been loving loads of new products, which is different for me as I'm so normally so into my fashion-based posts. Ranging from face and lip products to 'brows and lashes. There are a couple of long-time staples that have seen me through the past few months, but there are others in particular that have really stood out in June....

BLOG SALE! | MY CLOTHES

Hi guys! Apologies for the few weeks off in posting as regularly as I normally do, life has just gotten in the way recently and I just need to kick-start things again. I still can't quite believe that it is already July - this year is definitely flying by. I thought I would start the month off with a blog sale, as I feel like all the sales are going on right now, and you might catch a bargain or two with my own things!

CHELSEA DREAMING | RIVER ISLAND

Chelsea. The place of dreamy white houses and impeccably clean streets. Where the A-Listers roam and the bloggers use as their backdrop, it's where everyone wants to be. During my short stay in London, I just had to be a part of that environment, to see what it's all about in that up-town district that so many aspire to live in. With a dash of style from River Island, this is what I wore on such a fabulous day....

PORTOBELLO ROAD MARKET | LDN

Last saturday I discovered possibly my new favourite shopping destination - and no, it isn't as crazy as jetting off to New York's Fashion Ave or strolling through central London's bustling Oxford Street. It's so much better than that. No - really. Portobello road has more than it's colorful terraced houses, it has culture all interweveed onto one beautiful street, selling everything from shiny intricate rings to antique hardback books from way before you and I even existed.....

HELLO JUNE & GOODBYE NEWCASTLE

Wow. I still can't believe that it June already, where has this year gone?! I haven't posted as of late, purely because I've been doing a 9-5 internship in London at full pace, but on the weekends I've managed to rack up plenty of content for the upcoming weeks, so keep an eye out for that! Before that though, I had to say goodbye to Newcastle until September. If you didn't know already, that is where I live throughout term-time as I go to Northumbria University....

DOUBLE DENIM | CAN IT WORK?

Can double denim work? The answer is yes. I'm surprised myself at that answer, as I would have normally shy away at the even the thought of it. Surely I could never pull it off? It wouldn't suit me. It couldn't....But I was suitably proved wrong as I paired these pieces together, when the denim is a slightly off colour to the other, and if it has a different texture (e.g. ripped) it can work. I have always loved denim, it's just something that never really goes away in the fashion world, it always re-appears in one form or another, whether it's at a catwalk show or on the streets. I just never really thought of putting both together before.....

MONOCHROME GRIDS | MONKI

Who said grids were out? As of late, I have once again become obsessed with the geometric monochrome style; reviving it through these slick dungarees from Monki. As it's my last week here up in Newcastle until I leave to go back home for the Summer, I decided to take a stroll around Jesmond Dene with my good friend Holly (she also has a blog, you can check it out here). I styled these smart dungarees with a plain causal tee and loafers, as to not distract too much attention away from the pattern that's already going on.....

DRESSING FOR THE OCCASION | RALPH LAUREN

Dressing in high-end clothing for special occasions doesn't need to be scary. When I was asked to take a look at the dresses section from the Ralph Lauren website, I was actually taken back as to how nice they genuinely were. I'm not going to lie, I don't normally tend to look at designer products, but I was pleasantly surprised. The dresses were all well structured, had great colour schemes and I already pictured in my head as to what event I could wear each one to. So, I figured why not write about it?
In this post, I've combined some of my favourite dresses from designer Ralph Lauren into 3 key looks, 'Monochrome Wedding', 'Garden Party' and 'Summer in the City'....

APRIL FAVOURITES | BEAUTY & FASHION

This month I've been so busy with my last month at University of second year, so I've barely had time to register what I've been loving (other than constantly browse ASOS as a way of short term sweet escapism). Yet, with always being on the go, and wanting to stay comfortable / fashionable in a rushed state, these key items have helped seen me through many a nervous breakdown! From beauty to fashion, these simple products have been my everyday essentials....

FRIDAY HIGH-STREET WISHLIST | MAY

I have been waiting for this day for so long - it's technically my first day of Summer! This year is absolutely flying by to say it's already May. I have officially broken up from Uni until September (woo!) so my regular blogging routine will take place once again. I thought I would kick things off in true style, of course with a high-street wishlist. I desperately want to treat myself after all the hard work that I've been putting in for all my deadlines over the past month (hence the lack of posts) so I came up with these mixtures of cool coloured tones, creamy beige's and a dash of pale grey. Admittedly the majority are from River Island, but that's purely because they have come out on top this week.....

PETER PAN COLLAR BLOUSE : TOPSHOP : £36

SLEEVELESS TRENCH : RIVER ISLAND : £65

TASSEL LEATHER MESSENGER BAG : RIVER ISLAND : £40

BLUE LONG-LINE SHIRT:  RIVER ISLAND  :   £25

GREY STRIPE SLEEVELESS SHIRT : RIVER ISLAND : £30

CREAM FLORAL BOMBER JACKET : RIVER ISLAND :  £45

What do you think to these beautiful bits that I've picked out?
Would you wear any of them?

As always, let me know!
Lots of love,

Hannah xoxo

TOP 5 MAC LIPSTICKS | SPRING

For Spring, these lipsticks are definitely at the top of my favourites list. They're so wearable for any occasion this season, and each one has a spring time feel to it that just puts you in good mood. From the highly coveted 'Velvet Teddy' to the forgotten about 'Speed Dial', these matte / lustre sticks are your lips' ultimate best-friends for this time of year.....

SEVENTIES VIBES | WATCH THE WORLD TOOL

For today's post, I wanted to throw it back to February, and re-create my favourite look from London Fashion Week. The lovely people from Links of London challenged me to pick out a look using their impressive 'Watch the World' tool (more on that later!) with clothing and accessories to bare in mind. It was a difficult task, there was so many different routes I could go down - reinvented '90s? Monochrome? Co-ordinates? No, they had all been done too much. I needed to think outside of the box and step out of my comfort zone. Both designer and high-street brands such as Topshop all had the same style on their catwalks - and it meant tackling one of the trickiest trends - the seventies. I cringed at the thought. Flares, double denim and tassels weren't usually 'my thing'. But, I hadn't necessarily tried it in my own way....

WHERE HAVE I BEEN?! | LIFE UPDATE

Hey guys! I know. I've been pretty rubbish lately. I think 2 weeks is the latest I've ever left posting and I can't help but feeling really guilty about it. Unfortunately, I haven't had much choice in the matter because of crazy busy University deadlines and my part time job. I haven't even had an hour to myself just to sit down and read a book; let alone do a full on blog post. Not only that, I didn't want to write one just for the sake of writing a post. It has to be real, it has have meaning. Otherwise, what's the point? Not to worry though, blogging will resume as normal as of this upcoming week.

As Always,
Lots of love,
Hannah xoxo

MY TRIP TO DUBLIN | TRAVEL

As promised, here is my post from my short & sweet trip away to Dublin, Ireland. I had the best time, Uni work is starting to get stressful as deadlines approach, but I've been working non-stop and really just needed that little break away from everything, because sometimes, we all need to escape. After an early 5am start, I couldn't wait to jump in the taxi to the Airport, I'm just one of those people that get that holiday feeling and can't wait to go. Find out what I got up to on my travels... (warning: picture heavy post!)

ACCESSORIZING IN IRELAND | HOUSE OF FRASER

If you didn't know already from my Twitter spamming and Instagram posts, I took a quick and & sweet trip to Ireland to go see Royal Blood (amazing) and delve into Irish culture (watch out for that post in a few days!) So in the meantime, I thought I would show you guys what I wore on the first day. I wanted to be mindful with what I packed and what I wore because of the short time that I had there. Always go by the 3 main rules - Comfort, Quality and Style. You can't go with a coat that looks good but it's paper thin and barely fulfills its purporse, or wear a pair of shoes that absolutely kill your feet just to appear stylish - even if they are of good quality, sometimes that doesn't mean that they're suited to you. Anyway, here's what I put together.....

FEBRUARY FAVOURITES | APPS, FASHION & BEAUTY

Hey guys! So, I've finally got round to doing my quick February favourites. This past month I've been loving a wide variety of things, from beauty products to fashion accessories - and they all seem to be gold/brown toned.. think something's catching on here? I loved every single one of these items, and I think they deserved to be shared. App wise, I've been really getting into Instagram lately -they say it's the new and innovative must-have app that is dominiating the blogosphere - so why not keep it more regularly updated? (my instagram is @hannah_briggs)

DIGITAL PRINT FLORALS & LIGHT-WASH DENIM

Anyone who knows me, knows that I am obsessed with florals. Bright, minimal, dark, obscure - you name it. But when I spotted this beautiful digital floral print shirt dress from River Island at £48 (see here), It was like I  fell in love with the print all over again. To me, it's the perfect transitional spring dress, it makes you feel that little bit summery without going overboard. I really like how it looks quite blended and abstract, it's not too 'in your face' - it's just something lovely and bright that makes you feel good when you wear it....

LONDON FASHION WEEKEND + NEW LOOK BLOGGER AFTERNOON TEA

On Sunday I was kindly invited by New Look to attend London Fashion Weekend at Somerset House. Of course, I jumped at the chance. To see the catwalk shows for the upcoming season, study the trends and fully immerse yourself in fashion’s most celebrated time of the year is a a great experience. There's just something about the patriotic, edgy vibes of London that attract most people - to get a glimpse of a shiny pair of heels,'those' tailored culottes or Cara Delevigne’s 'brows....

VERTICAL STRIPES & NAVY TROUSERS | RIVER ISLAND

Stripes are back, and I just can't get enough of them. Nautical stripes, vertical stripes, colourful stripes - you name it! I am officially obsessed. I feel like stripes are also a great transitional print into the Spring season, easing you more into that little subtle bit of difference, be it with the sole print or a subtle colour change. I recently picked up this staple 'poplin' button up shirt from River Island, and I just couldn't wait to style it up and show you guys....

YSL TOUCHE ÉCLAT FOUNDATION

I recently picked up the Yves Saint Laurent Le Teint Touche Éclat foundation in B10 Beige, and I immediately wanted to do a review about it. Now, everyone's heard about the YSL Touche Éclat highlighter (which I still desperately need to try!) yet I haven't heard all that much about it's sister product, the foundation. I've been taking my time trying to find and decide on a really great high-end foundation to invest in, as I was starting to grow a little tired of using high-street ones. Even though my student budget can't always make that stretch to buy luxurious products all of the time, it's sometimes really nice just to indulge yourself in something that makes you feel and look good....

BENEFIT PORE O' CLOCK EVENT | NEWCASTLE

Yesterday I attended the Benefit Pore o'clock event, which was more of a party than a product promotion. Of course, it was all in aid of the greatly hyped up 'Porefessional' primer. It's a creamy based consistency, that glides over the skin and supposedly minimizes pores.  I've heard many great things about this particular benefit wonder, so I thought I would see what all the fuss is about....

HOW TO: EASILY BAKE YUMMY CHOCOLATE BROWNIES

I find that there's nothing better on a weekend to do than a spot of baking - it's just something different and fun to do, especially to just watch your creations from scratch come to life! And OK, So I know mine does look a little, tiny weeny bit burnt on the top - but that's mainly because my oven at my Uni house is absolutely rubbish! And yes, it does pretty much look like a baked chocolate cake tray, but this was the pre-cutting into 'brownie squares' stage! It still tasted absolutely divine. Here's how to easily make the recipe in a fool-proof way, in just under an hour.....

VALENTINES DAY & MY 20TH BIRTHDAY | UPDATE

Hello my lovelies! So sorry that I haven't posted in a while, this past week or so has been manic, but in a good way. February is always my favourite month (but that's pretty bias) just because it's my birthday, it's valentines day, and of course - it's pancake day! I thought I would share with you a few things that I've been up to, just because I've had the best week....

WALKS IN JESMOND | CAMEL & STRIPES

This upcoming spring season is all about camel colours and the classic dash of stripes, which I've incorporated both together into this outfit. I felt like going on a leisurely walk around Jesmond Dene Park (which if you're based in Newcastle, you'll know where I'm talking about!). It's a beautiful huge foresty park, which is perfect to go on quiet walks. I decided to take my camera with me today, to grab some outfit shots....

EXCLUSIVE BENEFIT RELEASE | PUFF OFF! EYE GEL

Hello my lovelies, today I'm talking about a new and exciting launch from the one & only Benefit cosmetics. This product isn't officially released as of yet, but it will be out tomorrow (January 31st)! The latest invention from Benefit's ever-expanding range of beauty gems is for skincare. As a student, all those all-nighters working on assignments isn't good on the body. I wake up on a morning to puffy eyes and dry skin, and sometimes using just moisturizer in a rush just doesn't cut it. This is where this 'Puff Off' (great pun) comes in to play.....

TANYA BURR FALSE EYELASHES | DATE NIGHT

I'm an avid false eye-lash lover. I don't normally wear them on a day-to-day basis, as I just don't have the time to apply them properly - and I don't like to put too much pressure on my actual eyelashes. However, sometimes I do like to spruce things up a little if I'm going on a date, I like to use natural ones. Nobody likes to look at eyes that look like they're going to fly away! This is where Tanya Burr's false eyelashes collection comes in to play....

FLORAL LBD | RIVER ISLAND

I never thought I could love a dress so much in life (other than my prom dress, and maybe one day my wedding dress) but this is just perfect. It's great to wear from day-to-night, the texture of it looks and feels expensive with how silky it is - and best of all - it's floral. It's got me written all over it! The lace-capped sleeves, smudged floral pattern - it's the perfect swing dress to throw on that will never go out. For £40, (see here) it's a must wardrobe investment....

CLIPHAIR EXTENSIONS REVIEW | BLONDE/BROWN MIX

Hi guys! So recently I've been in touch with Cliphair Ltd, which are a UK-based hair extension company. They kindly sent me these gorgeous blonde/brown tone hair extension set to try out and review. Now, I've tried loads of different types of hair extensions and hair pieces from a wide variety of brands big and small over the past 5/6 years. So, I've become pretty accustomed to what to look for, and what colours would suit my own hair best. Would a company such as Cliphair (which I will be honest, I hadn't heard much of until now) live up to my expectations?.....

KIKO LUSCIOUS PUNK | LIPSTICK & LINER

One of my main goals for my blog in 2015 is to do more beauty-based posts, as I want my blog to be more diverse rather than solely focused on fashion all of the time. So, here's my first one of the year - and it's dedicated to this gorgeous duo lip set from the Kiko Cosmetics, named 'Luscious Punk'. My sister got me this completely out of the blue for Christmas from a Sephora in Strasbourg, France. I've recently started to get so much more into lip liners this past year (blame Kylie Jenner), so this was perfect for me....

HAPPY NEW YEAR | REFLECTION ON 2014

Happy New Year! After having a break from uni and being home for Christmas, it's Janurary time. That means a fresh start, for uni to re-start, and of course, to dust down my laptop and begin properly blogging again! I've seen quite a few 2014 reflection type of posts dotted around, so I thought I would do one of my own. Although, 2013 was a hard one to top, I still feel this year I have grown up so much as a person. There's been the good times, the hard times, but all in all, I regret nothing....
