Hi guys! So today is a little bit of a different post from me, as since i've graduated from Uni (boo!) and started a full-time job, I've always been a little weary of what to wear, is it too bleak, or am I being too 'fashion-forward'? It's all about finding the right balance between looking professional and smart, but also adding a touch of trend and feeling comfortable in how you present yourself at work. With the winter months looming in, I wanted to obviously keep warm, but to also keep to all those points mentioned above. So, I styled together this outfit, as an example of one of my work-wear style looks....

I've recently bought this black fur collar coat from River Island, and it's definitely one of my favourite items for this A/W season. I find I can put this coat on with loads of different outfits, so it's definitely seen as a wardrobe staple / investment. It was also purse friendly at just £65 (now gone up to £70 see here) and also comes in camel and grey colours. Not only is it stylish and to a budget, it's also super warm and cosy which is a bonus! However I do tend to wear this weather permitting, as I don't want rain or snow to ruin the fur - so I tend to switch between this and my Zara parka.

Bag - Zara £49.99 (can't seem to find online but definitely seen in-stores)

I absolutely love this skirt from Karen Millen, my mum actually gave this to me as she'd never worn it. It featured little button pockets at the side and it's of a warm wooly material - perfect for when the days are getting chillier. It is unfortunately no longer available online, however I have spotted plenty of duplicates on the high-street such as H&M. I usually pair this skirt lately with a pair of high denier tights and with my beloved over-the-knee black heeled boots from Zara which were around £50 in the sale last year (however I did find a similar pair here).

What do you think to this outfit?
Would you wear it?
As always, let me know!
Lots of love,
Hannah xoxo

  1. I totally know what you mean on the balancing professional with keeping true to your personal style! When I first started my full time job a year ago I went wayy too professional, honestly I just wore black trousers & a blouse all the time because I was scared of being too 'fashion' and not being taken seriously enough. Now however I think I've mastered the balance!

Karen Millen is great for professional pieces that still look cool though, as you've shown with this skirt!

  2. I have a similar post up now. Transitioning clothes is definitely easier than a whole new outfit xo!

  3. Great winter outfit! Love that skirt!
