TOMMY HILFIGER VIBES IN ZARA

There's nothing I love more than discovering designer inspired pieces at ultimate high-street prices. One of those such stores that seem to be killing the trend game at the minute is none other than Zara. Just last week I spotted this beautiful navy midi skirt, with a red-ribbed striped band as a striking feature that instantly made me think of luxury label, Tommy Hilfiger....

I absolutely love how the ribbed material actually pinches in my waistline, giving off the optical allusion of a slimmer figure - can't complain about that! It also has a silver front zip fastening, which I personally think just adds that something a little bit extra to what would have been otherwise, a plain navy skirt.

I wanted to team up the skirt with some coordinating accessories, so I chose this smart city-ready red backpack, also from Zara. It features silver puncture holes and metal flap, making it the perfect partner to wear for those long days at work. For the bargain price tag of just £24.99, you really can't go wrong.

To finish my 'Tommy Hilfiger' inspired look off, I added some kick-ass black heeled boots from H&M. I truly believe that adding a little bit of extra height makes you feel so much more confident, and ready to take on the day - whatever it throws at you!

What do you think to this Tommy Hilfiger inspired look?
Would you wear any of it?
As always, let me know!
Lots of love,
Hannah xoxo

BLOGGER OF THE MONTH WITH BOOHOO.COM

This star dress has certainly brightened up my day! You know when you just feel damn GOOD in an outfit? This is one of those very times - thanks to none other than Boohoo.com. As a massive advocate for budget-friendly fashion, I was over the moon when they kindly asked me to be their blogger of the month, in which they send a mystery dress to style up. Scary? Exciting? I was curious as to what I could get, which intrigued me even more rather than receive a standard chosen PR package. When my mail arrived I ripped it open as soon as I got through my flat door. This super-cool black star number (perfect for those Autumnal vibes) popped out of the delivery packaging and I knew this was going to be right up my street....

HOW TO NAIL YOUR AUTUMN STYLE

It's coming towards the end of September - already! As the days begin to grow colder and brisker, It feels like that time of year for a good wardrobe refresh and truly kickstart the season ahead. I'm definitely one to recycle clothing and keep wearing certain items loads if they are investment worthy and timeless pieces. To me, this is the perfect way to nail your own Autumn transitional style, so I thought I would share some of those classic pieces with you...

THE TOPSHOP SPACE SHIRT

 Happy Friday!

Every now and again you find something in a store that you just need to buy. This Topshop space shirt definitely brightened up my week, who doesn't love some celestial stars on their back? I bought it straight away and thought this look deserved a post (as people know, I'm an avid astronomy geek) and what better to find a top like this! I've also seen the 'space trend' starting to pop up and it's been immensely popular already....

MARCO PIERRE NEW YORK ITALIAN RESTAURANT LEEDS REVIEW

Leeds, UK

When you get an email asking to try out some Italian food, you don't turn it down. Especially when it's a home-grown Leeds chef Marco Pierre. I was really excited to attend the low-key blogger evening at the Marco Pierre New York Italian restaurant in Leeds last week, which consisted of sampling the menu. Located just off Merrion centre, it was tucked away attached to the Ibis hotel. First thoughts? A little odd choice of area - bargain shops and multi-storey carpark doesn't exactly shout luxury celeb-chef elegance, compared to the rival likes of Gino Di Campo's recently opened franchise and Jamie Oliver's chain sitting down on up-town Park Row. However, I was pleasantly surprised as I stepped through the frosted doors...

SEPTEMBER TRANSITIONAL STYLE

I always enjoy the challenge of finding my transitional style during those awkward seasonal changes. What colour palette will make up the must-have trend? Which print will rival the likes of the year before? It's always a question of what will work and what will fail. This September, I'm loving teal and fallen back in love with the ever-versatile leather jacket. So, I pieced together this gorgeous Topshop wrap dress with none-other than a faux leather jacket from Primark to tide me over before investing in a real one that would last longer.

HOW TO FEEL MORE CONFIDENT

York, UK

Social anxiety, building confidence. It's a taboo subject. There's a lot of people in the world today (including in my circle) that think it's just something that you can just get over - that nerves are always temporary. But it's not that simple; it takes years just to figure out coping techniques. My family and closest friends know that I sometimes struggle with social anxiety - for me, it comes to a head when I meet new people that I don't know. "Will I make a good impression? What do I talk about? What if they don't like me? Oh no, now I'm being rude by not talking much!" It's like a million and one thoughts run through my mind. As soon as I've chatted to that new person and got to know them it's fine, it's just the lead up and awkward small talk that gives me such a surge of anxiety.

Over the years I've come to find ways to help act as a coping mechanism, to make me feel more confident and overcome these personal obstacles. It has helped me a lot, from large scale work presentations to cool blogger events - so, I thought I would share with you my top tips to help you feel that little bit more confident....

5 WAYS TO OVERCOME WORK TIREDNESS

Leeds, UK
This past week I've been feeling so tired - no matter how many hours of sleep I'm managing to cram in or sheep I'm counting. So, I decided to take on the challenge of finding a solution to this problem. I mean, It's always a shock to the system on a Monday morning, trying to get your mind into work mode from a relaxing weekend and find some motivation. But, when you haven't snapped out of it by Wednesday? It's time to look for some advice - so here's what I've discovered....

WORK THE WIDE LEG TROUSERS

Leeds, UK

This season I've fallen head over heels for wide leg trousers, they suit my body shape and are totally on trend - they seem to have appeared in every high-street store. In these particular Zara wide leg trousers, I honestly felt like I was sashaying down the street in some hot tropical paradise - yet I'm actually in Leeds City Centre with injured pigeons and dark clouds glooming ahead. But that's the thing I love about a statement piece of clothing, how it can make you feel like invincible...

PINK TO MAKE THE BOYS WINK

Pink to make the boys wink! (As my gran used to say) - Honestly? Some people love it, others not so much. Over the years I've gone through stages of not wanting to go near anything pink, to absolutely showering myself in the colour. I guess I'm back to that stage where I'm totally in love with it and CONFIDENT wearing it. These light pink trousers for instance are an absolutely hit and I get compliments whenever I wear them - it's so important to have a few pieces in your style library that you'll always love. They actually were featured a while ago in my previous, popular Pink post (see here) and I kept them ever since.

THE PERFECT SUMMER DRESS

Leeds, UK

I've been looking for that perfect summer dress, that you can wear without growing tired of, that will always be that 'staple item' in your wardrobe. I was just about to give up hope of finding one, until I spotted this beautiful powder-blue midi dress in Topshop a few weeks ago. It suits my style in every way - it's to my taste, it was an affordable price, and best of all, it made me feel comfortable. If you haven't read my previous - quite personal - post all about self reflection in 22 things I've learnt in 22 years (see here) I talk about struggles with my body weight and learning to accept myself. This dress honestly was a blessing, as it made me feel confident again...

22 THINGS I'VE LEARNT IN 22 YEARS | A PERSONAL POST

Over the years I've become adjusted to different challenges and obstacles, within social circles, work life and even blogging. It's very difficult to not be defined by your life choices, to let go of undeserving people and move on to new and better things. I wanted to share with you my experiences, see if it helps in any way and ultimately, know that nobody's perfect.
These are 22 things I've learnt, in 22 years...

A SUNDAY IN KNARESBOROUGH WEARING M&S

My style is constantly evolving, whether that be due to my expanding waistline or ever impeding age. I never thought I would dip my toe into the trendy abyss of palazzo trousers and '70s bell-sleeves. Nor did I think I would find myself lusting after beetlejuice fashion in the form of an M&S midi skirt. But here I am! Strutting the cobbled streets of Yorkshire market town Knaresborough, on a sunny Sunday afternoon....

THE GUESS DESIGNER TRAINERS

Leeds, UK

I love mixing up high street with designer, and I've always been a fan of the double denim look. It just looks super cool and trendy - every Spring / Summer it always seems to come back around into my wardrobe. I styled up a very similar look a few years ago (see here) but in this instance, I absolutely adore the pearl detailing mixed with my brand new, beautiful Guess white trainers...

HOW TO STYLE THE STATEMENT T-SHIRT

Leeds, UK

You can never go wrong with the basics, especially when it comes to a simplistic yet classic, statement print t-shirt. I've found that lately I've adopted a more casual-meets-formal style, mixing up certain pieces that I wouldn't have previously thought in a million years to put together and actually work for me. Culottes & trainers? A bold statement tee? They weren't ever viable options. However, as my wardrobe evolves over time, I've really enjoyed experimenting with my look....

I FOUND BURBERRY BEAUTY IN TKMAXX

I always love finding those special little items in Tkmaxx, especially when it's designer. The store itself is definitely like marmite - some people hate it, others love it. I'm definitely a lover, and have raved about Tkmaxx for years and years - you never know what you may find! In the past I've discovered Marc Jacobs sunglasses, Versace handbags and most recently, Burberry makeup. Yes, I couldn't quite believe it myself when I saw a load of excited women around the cosmetics area grabbing every product - it was crazy! This is what I managed to pick up....

ARE FLUFFY BAGS 'COOL' AGAIN?

Leeds, UK

The revival of the 'fluffy bag' is one that surprised me - from lusting after a bubblegum pink miniature as a pre-teen in the local Claire's Accessories, to being in my early twenties, seeing strong clueless '90s vibes plastered everywhere on the high-street. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love experimenting with my style to see if it looks good, but also if it works functionality wise. In that sense, I'm ashamed to say that I do think like an adult now (ignorance is bliss until you start paying for council tax and other grown up nonsense). Where was I? Ah, the fluffy bag. It's beautiful, but risky. Risky to take on a night out without getting a classy vodka lemonade sticking to it kind of business - even for me. I like to invest in staple pieces, but for once, I was swayed by this particular pale blue/grey cloud of delight....

WHERE TO FIND THE BEST RIPPED JEANS

Leeds, UK

Where to find the best jeans in 2017? That always seems like a never-ending question every year - to get the most flattering fit, the best updated style and long-wear quality - but - at an affordable price. I think I've found the secret to that question. I've already mentioned in the past that I'm an avid fan of the ripped jeans look from my previous posts (see here) - but there's just something about just discovering this brands' range of jeans that actually made me stop in my tracks on the busy shop-floor and ask myself, ''hey - why haven't I shopped here before for jeans?'' Especially when they are as beautiful as these particular ones....

I'M PART OF THE JACK WILLS SWIMWEAR CAMPAIGN

I can finally say it - I have worked with Jack Wills on their latest SS17 Swimwear collection. Of course, I jumped at the chance when the opportunity presented itself to promote their range, not only for my love of fashion, but for the strong and proud British heritage that the brand represents. Their main 'theme' for this year is tropical and nautical prints, the spirit of seeking adventure and delving into the unknown....

PRETTY LITTLE LIARS RETURNS | ARIA

I've always been a massive fan of PLL since its early beginnings on MTV - me and my sister would rush home from school / college and eagerly await for it to start. Unless dad had turned Sky off which had MTV (then there would be mega fuss kicking off from then teenage me haha!). One thing that has always been consistent is the characters trendy style - I've always wanted to replicate one of their outfits. So, to celebrate it returning (and ending, sad face!) I decided to copy Aria's look from the new series and pretend I was in my very own version of Rosewood....

STEP INTO SPRING WITH ZARA

Zara are without a doubt absolutely killing it with their latest S/S 17 collection. Think flared sleeves, wide leg culottes and floral prints - all elements which suit my style perfectly. I've been seriously impressed with what they keep bringing out each week to satisfy the trend-greedy customer - it's dangerous for my bank balance! I moved into the city recently, and I find it quite difficult to hit the right chord in terms of looking stylish, but also comfortable from being a countryside girl. That's where this outfits like this one come in....

THE TWO PIECE FLORAL SUIT | SS17

Suits don't have to be slate grey and boring. This two-piece proves that, with its extravagant floral peach pattern and silky fabric - making it perfect for the Spring/Summer season. I personally think it looks completely different to anything else that's currently available on the high-street. It can potentially act as both formalwear to work, to cocktails in the city....

THE FLORAL SPRING DRESS | SS17

I do love Spring. It's almost as soon as I smell freshly cut grass, see flowers blooming and the sun creeping through, I just want to clear out my winter wardrobe. Personally, I tend to transition from my trusty skinny jeans to floaty dresses, that usually have a dash of floral print (groundbreaking for Spring, I know). It's always pretty much a gamble with the British weather, but I find adding a pair of tights and having an umbrella in your handbag does the trick. I'm known for loving my florals, and when I spotted this figure-slimming dress, I just knew I had to buy it....

THE ZATCHELS BACKPACK | SS17

Zatchels have significantly stood out to me over the years, they've truly developed a name for themselves. The high quality craftsmanship, leather materials, it's product longevity and vast range makes it a fun and wearable brand. Although they have so many shapes and sizes of bags to offer, I immediately swooned over the classic city backpacks. The one that stood out to me the most? Iced Coffee. Perfect for S/S 17, I decided to style it up for the upcoming season....

BABY PINK & FLARED SLEEVES

Flared sleeves and frilly fabrics are massively on trend right now. There's so much available on the high-street, it's difficult to filter down and find that 'unicorn' item that you absolutely, genuinely, utterly and completely love. You know the feeling. The 'I cannot leave this shop until it's MINE' kind of feeling. That's the exact sensation I felt, when I discovered a baby-pink gem in Zara....

MOTHERS DAY GIFT GUIDE 2017

Mothers day is always a time to show your mum how much you love and care about her. Forget about nipping to the petrol station to grab some cheap flowers. Make an effort this year, surprise her. Sometimes I feel like I take my mum for granted, that's why I always take her out to the occasional blogger event, make sure she has something extra special to open up on Christmas day or even just to hang out and go shopping. The one constant in your life is family, so it's important to make them feel special. So, I whipped up this last minute gift guide in the hopes of helping you choose what you get your Mum this Mothers Day....

HOW TO WEAR GINGHAM | SS17

Gingham. Love it or hate it, the stand-out print is back again for this S/S 17 season. I previously styled up the eccentric design back in 2014 (see the post here) and people seemed to really like it then, so I think it's great how the trend has come back around once more. Gingham itself can be quite tricky to style, but the picnic-friendly checks are great to pair with plainer tones. First, figure out what colours you like to wear the most, or feel like you can personally 'pull off' and feel comfortable with alongside the gingham print. For example, I opted for light denim and dashes of baby pink.....

THE BODYSHOP MOTHER'S DAY BLOGGER EVENT

The Body Shop are a favourite company of mine, that goes without saying. Their scents were around when my oldest sister was strutting around in her too-high killer heels and giving me a cheeky sip of her pineapple barcadi breezer. Oh, those were ignorantly bliss days. Until mum caught us! But I have so much love for my mum, she's an avid beauty lover and enjoys going out, so when The Body Shop contacted me about the Mothers Day bloggers event in Leeds, I just had to take her.....

WHAT I GOT FOR MY BIRTHDAY

Who doesn't love birthdays? It means eating loads of cake, getting to do fun things and just letting the day be all about you. I personally love giving presents more than receiving them, it definitely feels good to spread the love. But, I thought for once I would show you what I got for my 22nd birthday. (Obligatory 'I'm in no way bragging etc etc etc) It's just something I enjoy reading when pondering the internet, so I figured, why not? I was a lucky girl this year and I'm so so grateful.....

HOW TO STYLE BACKLESS LOAFERS | RIVER ISLAND

Leeds, UK

Let's talk about loafers. Backless loafers - otherwise known as slippers! ;) I wanted to set myself a challenge this week - I wanted to purchase something a little bit different, something on trend, and something totally out of my comfort zone. Personally, I love loafers. They're brilliant to wear casually or formally, but there are so many different types out there. Especially when it comes to backless ones. I was always too afraid to wear them or how to style these certain loafers. However, they have become the go-to piece after Gucci's domination of the backless loafer. It wasn't until shopping 'fate' struck when I spotted a pair of beautiful black faux croc effect, floral embroidered, dupe loafers in River Island.  When I saw them hanging seductively in their lucratively designed window display, I knew I had to take them home with me, and style them up.....

THE ZARA FLORAL EMBROIDERED DRESS

Floral embroidery? It has pretty much been hanging seductively in every single high-street shop that I happen to stumble across lately. From denim frayed boyfriend jeans with a dash of embroidery on the pocket lining, to floral embroidered loafers, just waiting to be tried on. However, I was yet to spot something from the 'blooming' trend (see what I did there) that I really quite liked and struck a chord, until I came across this black mesh-embroidered overlay dress from Zara....

VALENTINES DAY GIFT GUIDE 2017 | FOR HER

Ah, Valentines Day. Some hate it, others love it. I'll be the first to admit, that I'm one of those consumers that get lost in the Valentines commercial madness - I don't know how men must feel! So, I've put together this last minute Valentines gift guide for 2017, to range across all budgets and tastes. From beauty to technology, clothing and homeware decorations. Most of the following stores also offer Next Day Delivery or readily available in-store to collect. I'm sure there will be something here for your loved one - or for a girl to just treat herself!

WHAT TO WEAR FOR VALENTINES DAY

We all want to look good and make that effort for that special someone. Whether it's jazzing up your hair routine, polishing off your shoes or buying a new tube of mascara to bat them eyelashes with! Take me for example, I love fashion. I'm obsessed with buying the latest trend, but that just sometimes isn't feasible with my bank account. I'm sure that's the same situation for many, so, I after I spotted this (see here) gorgeous Zara jacket, I set myself on a hunt to find something that could match up to it, without the hefty price-tag, to look good for not only Valentines Day, but for any dates....

HOW TO WEAR LEOPARD PRINT

Leopard print. Only for those who are fashion-forward, or can you work these in any situation, no matter who you are? These days I tend to shy away from a pop of colour or an eye-catching print - I'm more of a 'black clothes that's it' kind of girl. However recently, I've felt like I needed to 'break the mould' in my wardrobe a little bit and try something new, go back to my 16 year old self, and experiment with my style again. If you find that you struggle to piece together out-going prints, using a dash instead of a whole load really takes off that extremist look, tones it down and makes you look trend-worthy. It might surprise you where I picked up these leopard print boots....

TRANSITIONAL STYLE | PEARLS & DENIM

For those of you who have been reading Trust In Vogue since its humble beginnings in 2013, my personal style has evolved and changed a lot throughout the years. My style tends to always transition during those awkward in-between season stages, and I've found myself seeking comfort with style. I picked up a few new items over the past couple of weeks, and I love this simple, but stylish outfit that I put together....

REFLECTING ON 2016 | HIGHS & LOWS

It's still strange to see the year 2017 placed in the corner of my laptop calendar. How on earth has 3 years of University gone by in a flash? I'm now working full-time, have my own flat to move into, and have a First Class Honours degree hung up proudly in my parents home. I feel like I've achieved a lot this year, even through all the highs and the very deep lows. So, I wanted to reflect on the year that probably shaped me the most as a person....

MY NEW YEARS EVE OUTFIT | 2016-17

Hi Guys! I'm back with my first post of 2017 - and it's of course, a fashion post, with what I wore on New Years Eve! Apologies for the image quality, as these were taken on my iPhone 6s, without my bulky DSLR to hand! Pretty much all of these items I picked up in the sale, but are still readily available online or in-stores. I decided to go for an 'Angelina Jolie' vibe with the slit cut leg and skimmed material - something which doesn't take too kindly to my body shape, but hey, I decided to just go with it! One of my resolutions is to be more confident and comfortable with the way that I look....
