Gingham. Love it or hate it, the stand-out print is back again for this S/S 17 season. I previously styled up the eccentric design back in 2014 (see the post here) and people seemed to really like it then, so I think it's great how the trend has come back around once more. Gingham itself can be quite tricky to style, but the picnic-friendly checks are great to pair with plainer tones. First, figure out what colours you like to wear the most, or feel like you can personally 'pull off' and feel comfortable with alongside the gingham print. For example, I opted for light denim and dashes of baby pink.....
For this look, I wanted to showcase how you can have loads of different options with a singular piece of print, rather than just limiting yourself. I tend to do this a lot with black clothing, so with Spring approaching I wanted to shake off the darker colours and bring a pop of brightness back into my wardrobe.
The gingham shirt is from none other than.... Primark! I think this cost just around £8, which is such a steal. I really like the peplum design of it, it just makes it a little bit different to what is currently on the high-street, and it's super affordable for everyone too.
My new silver chokers are from Accessorize for around £8.
As I wanted to add some baby-pink colour into this outfit, I spotted these suede mules from Dorothy Perkins. These beauties were just £15 full price, which I was really quite gobsmacked about! They went perfectly with this outfit, especially as the weather gradually becomes warmer.
Baby-pink cross body bag is from Primark, for around £5 - bargain!
My ripped denim jeans are old season River Island, but there's loads on the high-street to suit your shape and personal style!
What do you think to the 'Gingham' trend re-emerging?
Do you like how this was styled?
As always, let me know!
Lots of love,
