WHY IT'S IMPORTANT TO MAKE TIME FOR YOURSELF

It's so important to make time for yourself, life can easily get in the way from everyday stresses at work, to social pressures in friendship groups and even family issues. It's genuinely hard to keep everybody in your life happy and I've come to learn that it's utterly impossible. The reality is that you will not make every single person in your circles constantly happy in life, we just don't all humanly function like that. It's ok not to be sociable all the time and go out every single weekend to show your face. It's great having time for yourself, especially when it's been a long week. You may have read one of my older posts about dealing with anxiety here, which is a great reminder why it's important to not only stay positive, but to feel absolutely ok about having that all important 'you' time and escaping those every-day factors that can make life difficult. So - pop on Netflix, have a cup of tea and let me tell you why being a hermit sometimes is ok!

There's nothing more I love than catching up on YouTube, binge-watching Netflix or phoning up my best friend for a good chat. This is pretty much what my bed looks like when I just want to flop on it and do those things - it's not 'insta-worthy' perfectly made up to look picture perfect. My windows need washing again, my fairy lights are dropping below the headboard and my right pillowcase is creased. But who cares? When I make time for myself I switch off on social (from posting, I do still like to scroll through the feeds) and just enjoy being a little bit lazy!

Everybody's different and this isn't at all the hand bible to how to make time for yourself. Some people enjoy going out for a run listening to just their own thoughts or even going the opposite way and piling themselves into a book. This post is purely aimed at trying to explain WHY it's important to take that time for yourself and not feel bad about it. After I've had a lazy evening of just sticking on crappy Soaps on TV and maybe having a bad dinner that particular night I feel so much more content than when the morning started. It's honestly the little things in life (things that you enjoy) which you should always incorporate into your lifestyle to keep that level of happiness going, without letting everyday stress take over control.

Do you think it's important to make time for yourself?
I hope you found this helpful!
Thanks,
Hannah xoxo
